Niki Harris 2 take Chaka's place w/ Rufus Sorry, if this has already been posted.
By ANDY ZEFFER Mar. 25, 2005 MUSIC IS A NATURAL TO Haris, who has it in her background. As the daughter of Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Gene Harris, jazz runs in her roots. It led her to record a CD titled “Jazz Alley Cats.” And she has long been drawn to Gospel music, performing concerts at Los Angeles’s massive Agape church. “Believe it or not there is a huge following of gay men in the church,” Haris says. To further round out her musical talents, in 2005 Haris is the new voice of the R&B group Rufus, stepping into the shoes of legendary Chaka Khan, the original voice of the group. “I got the greatest letter from her stating how proud she was of me,” Haris says. “It was like the passing of the baton.” ...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

Nikki Harris is a really talented singer. Which is why i've always been suprised that she was always backing Madonna, as she has the talents to have a career of her own.

Niki did well in Europe with her 'Snap!' songs..

She's had a career of her own. It's just not been all that rewarding or interesting. I love her voice, but joining Rufus? Why bother at this point?

Niki Harris is someone the music business should have taken a heed to a long time ago. Her voice is sensational and she is a talented vocalist in her own right. "haters wanna hate/lovers wanna love/I don't even want/none of the above/I want to piss on you/yes I do/I wanna pee you..."

Nikki Harris is not the SNAP! singer...That is someone else(whose name totally esacpes me at the moment), but she does (SNAP!) Penney Ford (it just came to me) sing back-up for Chaka. She also did a stint with Soul II Soul (Love Enuff), but it is a curse to sound like Chaka, then they want you to be Chaka. Her solo stuff flopped unfortunately and Snap! didn't want to ackowledge her orginally. It was dueeing that whole Martha Wash (C & C Music Factory-Black Box era)...As far as Nikki goes, her solo work has always been second rate material. Tired House Jams and such...
