Remember this Tune? "Heaven Help Me"- Deon Estus ftrg. George Michael

Deon Estus w/ George Michael - y'all remember this track from '88 or so....Estus was formerly the bassist in George Michael's band....
lol My girlfriend and I had just broken up at the time this tune came out, so for me, it carried a lot more weight than it normally would have, lol

This is a great song, although at first I thought it was George singing the whole thing. What ever happened to Deon?

I still listen to this song. It was 10th grade for me, and I was living in the middle of nowhere in upstate New York. This song would get a lot of radio play. It shoulda been billed as George Michael f/Deon Estus. Not many people remember Deon as the performer.

Oh yes... definitely a jam. I remember I was pissed because the radio never mentioned Deon Estus. I was hounding the record stores for a new single from George Michael and nobody knew WTF I was talking about lol

I remember Deon Estus! That was a good song. It's true that everyone assumed it was just George Michael singing. Poor Deon, he got no love. Was he a Brit too?

He co-wrote it with Deon, and produced it...

How come no one brings up "Shake" by Andrew Ridgely?

For the first ten seconds I thought it was going to be a jam. OK, a good song.

I kept waiting for it to get better. Oh well.

I used to love this song. I remember Video Soul and Video Vibrations would play this song all the time and I would think, that sounds like George Michael in the song and of course it was. I didn't remember who sang it until I read the title of the thread but I always knew that the guy was in GM's band. I haven't heard it since then but it always stuck with me. It also reminds me of how George Michael really dominated 1988. He was and still is the bomb.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Oh yeah, I LOVE this song, I am totally hooked on it!! Been listening to it a lot lately, it rocks! Love the horns and the bass guitar, that makes it funky.

Heaven Help Me Lyrics

Artist: Deon Estus With George Michael

If you want it you can have it
That's what you said
But I don't want the things that you leave behind
Take the pictures, take the windows and the walls
But baby won't you leave me my peace of mind
Oh such a waste of time
Oh such a waste
I still want you baby

Heaven help me heaven help me
Talk to strangers talk to strangers
Heaven help me
Over you
Help me over you
I can't seem to take these changes
Everything reminds my heart of you

Thought the first time was the last time
We'd be here forever
Now I find I'm having to search again
I'll happen
It's gotta happen
Come together
I just wish somebody would tell me when

Oh such a waste of time
Oh such a waste
I still want you baby

Heaven help Heaven help
Heaven, heaven heaven help me
Heaven help Heaven help
Heaven, heaven heaven help me

You're someone else's lady
So sad without you darlin'
The gods of love can't help me now
Heaven help Heaven help
Heaven, heaven heaven help me

I thought it was George singing it too. Deon sounds a lot like George, and his vocal style is very similar.

Not sure what Deon is up to nowadays, need to do a little research on the internet. typing
