Try Mirwais (as enorphin78 suggested), Chemical Brothers, Starlight Lovers, Modjo and you might enjoy Dirty Vegas but they're the flavor of the month.

Rooty and Discovery are just plain CLASSIC. These two albums should be fused into one funky masterpiece; they're definitely perfect compliments to each other.

Try out some Miss Kittin albums (the one with Felix Da Housecat is good, as is the one with Golden Boy) or try "Resuscitation" by a band called Adult.

These are more old skool new wave than they are old skool funky, but they'll put some swing in your backyard and they're definitely retro dance styley.
