Actually Baby Huey (& The Babysitters) is a pretty sad story.
He was a 400 pound Soul/R&B singer with a killer band that recorded on Curtis Mayfield's Curtom label (one album). Drugs and his weight took him out at 26 years old. Interesting side note. Chaka Khan took over as lead singer/front person for a hot minute before she joined Rufus. Check out his version of Sam Cooke's A Change Is Gonna Come. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all." | |

Excuuuuse me, #1: When my mom bought that Bad record in 1987 I was the first one allowed to take it out and play it on the record player 5 YEARS OLD!! My cousins used to say, "Isaiah play the good song on that record!!" (It was the album "Diana") and I was confused. I said to myself, "I dont know these songs...I looked and saw one called "Upsideown" which seemed good...put it on...and all I heard was, "See that's my baby right there he gonna be a DJ!!..." the good ol' New York days... #2. Actually I didnt know about Thieves In The Temple until 1994 when I bought "Grafitti Bridge" for $5 with my allowance money at 12 years old. #3 I am not old enough 2 bring up these obscure funk records, but I do my reasearch and if I didnt I wouldnt be half as knowledgeable as I am now on music. I dont know any1 my age who knows more about funk and R&B than me. except for my people's on here [Edited 4/13/05 12:08pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair
