The day after Chaka Khan performed at a glamorous, high profile Academy Awards viewing party and dinner in Hollywood (to benefit Children Uniting Nations), her son was arrested on murder charges in Los Angeles. Damien Patrick Holland, 25, surrendered to police Monday (2/28) after he learned that prosecutors had charged him with murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Christopher Baily, according to LAPD. Prosecutors allege that Holland shot the boy at a September 2004 party as the two struggled for a gun during a fight. Holland was initially taken into custody, but was released several days later when prosecutors said they didn't have enough evidence to press charges. Since then, allegedly new witnesses have come forward. Holland is currently being held on $2 million bail. There was no indication that anything was wrong the night before as Khan brilliantly performed to a star-studded audience including Wesley Snipes, Wyclef Jean, Lisa Marie Presley and more. The singing star is best known for huge hits including "Tell Me Something Good" and "I Feel For You."
