cmt awards 2005 - nominees hey
Cmt is having their music video award show again this year. I just finished voting on cmt.com, and thought I'd post the list of nominees on the forum. Even though no-one probably cares, meh, got nothing better to do anyway...so here goes Video director of the year David Hogan Gretchen Wilson "Redneck Woman" Rick Schroder Brad Paisley featuring Alison Krauss "Whiskey Lullaby" Michael Salomon Toby Keith "Stays in Mexico" Shaun Silva Kenny Chesney "I Go Back" Rick Schroder is gonna win this one hands down...best video of the past year imho Most inspiring video of the year Big & Rich "Holy Water" Martina McBride "God's Will" Tim McGraw "Live Like You Were Dying" Joe Nichols "If Nobody Believed in You" Tim Mcgraw has this one in the bag...this song moved a lot of people last year and has basically won every award it has been up for the past few months. Hottest video of the year Kenny Chesney "Old Blue Chair" Sara Evans "Suds In the Bucket" Keith Urban "You're My Better Half" Toby Keith "Whiskey Girl" No clear winner here...If toby is going to win one award this show, it'll be this one. Breakthrough video of the year Josh Gracin "I Want to Live" Big & Rich "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" Gretchen Wilson "Redneck Woman" Julie Roberts "Break Down Here" this one is between gretchen and B&R, too close to call. Group/duo video of the year Big & Rich "Holy Water" Lonestar "Mr. Mom" Rascal Flatts "Feels Like Today" Montgomery Gentry "If You Ever Stop Loving Me" again too close to call, all acts have a strong fanbase...I'd bet on B&R, but hope it 'll be Montgomery Gentry. Collaborative video of the year Jimmy Buffett with Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and George Strait "Hey Good Lookin'" Nelly featuring Tim McGraw "Over and Over" Brad Paisley featuring Alison Krauss "Whiskey Lullaby" Shania Twain with Billy Currington "Party for Two" As fun as 'hey good looking' was, there will be no stopping 'whiskey lullaby' Female video of the year
Martina McBride "How Far" Terri Clark "Girls Lie Too" Reba McEntire "Somebody" Gretchen Wilson "When I Think About Cheatin'" Reba is definitly the most deserving,...had an amazing year in 2004, but it 'll probably be gretchen. Male video of the year
Kenny Chesney "I Go Back" Toby Keith "Stays in Mexico" Tim McGraw "Live Like You Were Dying" Keith Urban "Days Go By" No idea...It probably won't be Toby but the other 3 are too close to call. Video of the year
Big & Rich "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" Kenny Chesney "I Go Back" Toby Keith "Stays in Mexico" Tim McGraw "Live Like You Were Dying" Brad Paisley featuring Alison Krauss "Whiskey Lullaby" Rascal Flatts "Feels Like Today" Gretchen Wilson "Redneck Woman" Keith Urban "Days Go By" I'm gonna go with Tim McGraw...again, this song touched a lot of people last year. You can vote on CMT.COM, as well as see a video presentation of the nominees. The show will be aired April 11th 8/7c on Cmt. [Edited 3/31/05 1:43am] It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

I just think it's funny people are always complaining here that they want real music for a change,...well what's more real than complete acoustic instrumentation carrying songs about the everyday life of the average joe? It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

Because it's an average Joe in the Texas backwoods. Has kind of limited appeal to me.
