GangstaFam said: I just really don't like Moby. But I've looked over that remix in favor of the Visconti one. Maybe I should go back and give it another chance. i'm not a huge moby fan either, but he can pull off something kinda catchy or impressive every now and then. i just heard his collaboration with princess superstar, and it's pretty nice. but then, it's more because her rapping is hilarious than anything he did that was so great.

I just hope I don't buy some version that's like hard-book cover, with 50 photos but no extra tracks or dvd.

wait. what? Joeski Love "Say huh? What?" You know those special editions that are really just collectors items because of the packaging but no added content. See: Gwen LAMB, Madonna Music.

See: Gwen LAMB, Madonna Music. this one's got all kinds of content. the CD itself has seven extra tracks. there's a DVD with the whole album on it, two videos, photo gallery, and i'm sure some other goodies i haven't discovered yet. and the book and packaging are so tasty, you just wanna lick the damn thing. but i might be a little biased - marcel dzama is one of my favorite current artists, and he's all over the album art.

Gary G very much so. i don't usually go for the 'deluxe special edition' crap - even with new bowie albums, i buy the normal version unless i can find a good deal on the 'deluxe limited edition' ('heathen' and 'reality' both had really crummy 'deluxe' versions, i think) - but the GUERO deluxe edition is full of lots of goodies. if you can find it for $15 at beast buy, it is DEFINITELY worth it. even when it goes off sale, it's still worth the extra bucks. the album is kicking my butt, and the seven extra songs and remixes are really, REALLY nice. Looks like I'm back to best buy.Had it in my hand, and put it back, and got my "family jewels" Thanx!

See: Gwen LAMB, Madonna Music. Hell, Madonna's "American Life"! Such a rip off. I'm not a huge Beck person (I have "Odelay" but don't listen to it much) but I've heard so many good things about this and Best Buy has the special editoin for a nice price (it's actually $14.99 online, so I assume the store would sell it for the same) I'm thinking why not.

Anxiety said: This is fabulous. This is what 'Special Edition' should be.
Two discs packaged in a hard-back book, with over fifty pages of photographs, lyrics, and some mighty nice illustrations by Marcel Dzama. The album with a handful of bonus tracks - remixes and extra songs. A DVD with the entire album accompanied by trippy images, with a photo gallery and at least two easter eggs I could find, including a funky, funky video for 'Black Tambourine', which thus far is my favorite song from 'Guero'. Twenty bucks at Beast Buy. Well worth the money, if you even THINK you like Beck. Go get!!! VOTE....EARLY

Disc 1 has 3 bonus tracks and 4 remixes. Disc 2 is a DVD which features the 5.1 Surround Sound mix of Guero, along with Movie/video remixes for the 13 album tracks by groundbreaking video artists D-Fuse and other fun stuff. Packaged in a 52 booklet of art and photos with a cool foil stamp cover. :: Guide to fully utilizing your Guero DVD. :: How to get the most out of your Beck Guero Deluxe DVD The Guero deluxe edition is a groundbreaking collision of art and technology. To the passive listener, it is a visually stimulating journey into an amazing record. To the advanced user, it is a journey like no other. With a stunning 5.1 surround sound mix by Elliott Scheiner and visuals by video artists D-Fuse, Becks Guero goes beyond the typical album experience. Guero is the first-ever global release of a surround sound album in simultaneous release of the standard commercial CD. As another first, there is not only one video for every song on the album but by utilizing the outer limits of DVD technology discussed below, listeners can access over 100 videos. For all 13 songs on Guero there are 2 video streams (aka angles) and 4 subpicture streams. When you play E-Pro for the first time, for instance, youll see green jelly fish and a pattern of rounded squares in front of them. This is more than meets the eye, the squares in front of the jelly fish are not part of the video, they are actually part of subpicture stream #1. The subpicture stream is a layer in front of the video that can be turned on, off or even changed using the subtitle button. Usually on DVDs of theatrical films, this feature is used to display text of the movies dialog in multiple languages: subtitles. So, by pressing the subtitle button instead of getting French dialog at the bottom of the screen, on the Guero DVD you can reveal more of the video, access 8-bit images of becks photography, reveal stylized lyrics or even see cute little Atari-looking birds flying across the screen. Continuing with the E-Pro example if you were to press the angle button on the DVD players remote you will reveal the second video stream on angle 2. As a common example of the use of this technology, many of you may have heard of (but Im sure not seen it) this in adult film, showing different angles of the same scene. In this case, the second angle is a different visual angle/interpretation of becks music by D-Fuse. For E-Pro we go from Jelly Fish to abstract lines and imagery combined with 3-demintional architectural-influenced designs. So with these concepts in mind you can create visual remixes of each so each song using the subtitle and angle buttons on your DVD players remote control. To showcase this in for the passive user, a special feature of this DVD is that after you play it all the way through, the DVD will go back to track 1 with a different combination of angle and subtitle without even having to touch the angle and subtitle buttons: Key for parties, hipster retail, etc. Other features on the disc include: 1. photo gallery of D-Fused Beck Photos 2. the capability to play in several automotive surround sound DVD-Audio players such as the Acura TL 3. more detailed information about the visual in the credits section 4. a couple of easter eggs featuring the official E-Pro and Black Tambourine music videos. When you find the Black Tambourine video, hit the angle button to see the double easter-egg! :: :: :: :: A small percentage DVD players may have problem accessing certain tracks from the Track Menu on the Beck - Guero DVD disc. This issue can occur because of the complicated nature of the D-Fuse content on certain tracks. If your player has problems accessing a particular track from the menu, you can easily workaround this problem by going to the track before the problem track, and either skipping or fast-forwarding to the end that track so that the player continues playing into the problem track. When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

Maybe I'll just give the regular one to someone who needs it badly. Check this song out at:

Becks music (to me) is good about sinking in later on down the road... It took me bout a year for Odelay to sink in..
Its all worthwhile in the end.. Glad I got a chance to get into his music.. Nice addition to the greats I must say

I bought this and will listen to it tonight. Damn Best Buy the store was selling it for $19.99 and wouldn't budge when I told them about the online price (it's like a competitor price....) so I went to Meijer and figured I would just get the regular edition for $9.99...I got really pissed when I saw a sticker that suggested it was "on sale" for $14.99 (everyone was selling the regular editon for $9.99) but I looked and it was in fact the special edition, but the special edition was in another area, with the boxed sets! It all worked out and I can't wait to listen to this! With my discount, it was $14.30 total....well worth it just judging by the book! They did not skimp on this special edition...take note Madonna!
