that's for not sitting down to appreciate this album sooner. Second: that's for finally listening to it an appreciating it This is, without a doubt, one of the best albums ever made (imo) it's one of those rare albums that conjure a world of their own. It's Tori in full effect doing some amazing work that makes my skin crawl with delight and fear at the same time. It stands up next to Radiohead's "KidA/Amnesiac" and "Achtung Baby" or even "Parade" in creating it's own world and dominating it. A bitchslap and a hug I absolutely agree with you about this album creating it's own world. It's a journey for sure I really do wonder when I bought this album. I don't think I could have bought it when it first came out because I do remember that I was not into it, and if I did buy it when it first came out (may 98) it would have been but 4 mere months later when PJ Harvey released "Is This Desire". When Desire was released I was so ready for that album. I had a literal religious experience with it. I can't imagine being ready for one and not the other. I wanna listen to PJ Harvey's "Is This Desire and I don't have the album with me!! Oh well, I'll just have to listen to more Choirgirl damn, now you're making me want to listen to PJ's "Desire" again "there inside the garden, came another with his lips" :swoon: and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

With this post, you've got yourself a Hot Topic. See that burning file over there?
First of all, to Supa. I'm so happy about this and receiving those awesome orgnotes from you. I actually printed them out. Like I told you in the first one I sent, when you wrote that thread last year about, "Someone please extoll the virtues of Tori Amos", it really stuck with me. I really admire your taste and I feel like we have a similar take on a lot of music. So when I found out that Tori just wan't doin' it for ya, I was surprised. To me, she seems to go right along with some of your other faves. And I consider my favorite music/artists to be my friends. When you introduce friends to eachother, you hope they get along. I'm glad you've made friends with Tori. Cheesy I know, but that's the simplest way I can put it. You're one of the most open, receptive and perceptive people I know when it comes to music. These "Ass Ride" threads are further proof of that.

I have a lot I want to share about the Choirgirl album, but I'm still collecting my thoughts about it. I could write a whole dissertation, but I want to keep it concise.

Somebody mentioned Tori's B-sides to Choirgirl, and I wanted to know howcome Tori fans never mention "Do It Again". I love her version of this song....it's one of my favorites. I can listen to Steely Dan's version and it does nothin' for me emotionally, but Tori's is different. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Her version is so good, not to take anything away from Steely Dan, but it's just more emotionally powerful and a little bit darker than the original version. If you like Liquid Diamonds/She's Your Cocaine, then you'll probably like Do It Again. It has that same feel. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)
