Song enters Billboard top 40 with virtually no airplay!

finally the people have a say in whats hot on the singles chart
and not the radio programmers when billboard started counting download single sales a few weeks ago...songs like this can now make the chart

"Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone's cover of Janis Joplin's Piece Of My Heart - which they performed at the recent Grammy Awards - is the highest new entry on the singles chart at number 32".

its a shame downloads werent counted last year Musicology (the single) would have made the top 40
Check it out ...Shiny Toy Guns R gonna blowup VERY soon and bring melody back to music..you heard it here 1st! http://www.myspacecomment...theone.mp3

So what? It'll be off the charts next week (just like Across The Universe). They are going to have to find a way to deal with this new "1-week-on-the-charts" phenomenon.

i would rather have a song the people bought on the charts one week than a song on the chart for 20 weeks just because of payola to clear channel

And due to chart rules, perhaps 5,000 people bought this track. So much for "the people".

Not weekly, Maz. Those are cumulative numbers.

Billboard says the number is closer to 30,000.
