Synths and piano are different. Technically, a piano is a stringed instrument although the nature of the way its played is different...hmm... Yeah, keys & synths are pretty much the sane thing, though. lol Roger played the talk box, which is a different instrument altogether...and it AIN'T EASY.

it doesn't really matter about the physicalities of how they work. if you can play a piano, you can play a synth, or a clavinet, or a harpsichord. they're all KEYBOARDS.

Don Henley for drums and guitar.
Alicia Keys for piano and guitar.
Marilyn Manson for guitar and piano.
Twiggy Ramirez for bass and guitar.

Annie Lennox (of Eurythmics fame) is a fantstic musician. In recent years, I've seen her dabble with the guitar, and play the flute and piano beautifully. In fact, it is kind of surprising she doesn't show that side of her abilities more!

It really isn't that big of a deal people. 99.999% of musicians can play more than one instrument. WHY? Because they are musically inclined...it's all about theory.

A couple more:

Flavor Flav on bass, keys, and drums. Don't just think that he only played the instruments for the song on The Surreal Life; he actually made most of the beats and melodies for Public Enemy.

Craig Ross (of Broken Homes) plays guitar, drums, and a little bit of the keys.

Er, me too!

John Myers (that's me) - guitar, bass, piano, drums, violin, tinwhistle, flute, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, percussion.

And you can hear some of them at www.johnmyers.co.uk on the Audio page...(shameless plug)...

Synths, piano, keys...they're all played using the same method. I'd count them as one, otherwise you get into the realms of listing instruments like Prince does on the inner sleeve of "For You"!

Not saying you're wrong, but we never see these people play anything (other than Tito on guitar & Jermaine on bass, right?) Is that info on album credits or something?

Oh, and I'll say Joni Mitchell--guitar, piano, and voice
