Go listen to "Live It Up". That's what the future of soul should be.
It IS time to put "Ordinary People" to bed. It has entered oversaturation.

I had a chance to listen without purchasing and I was not impressed. I wanted to like it because we need more African-American musicians but, this guy got 3 good songs on the whole CD.

I posted about dude before his CD dropped, because I had it. Like I said, he needs to get away from Kanye & crew or they're just going to bleed his production skillz for their little rap tracks. Kanye is building him up and holding him back at the same time. He has GREAT talent, he just needs the right person behind him.

I do like "Ordinary People" and I'm going to see him and Alicia Keys on April 10th. I hope he does as well in person.

Actually, same here. Seems like the same chord progression... and the way he plays the chords.. And the tempo.

Aw hell, it's a ripoff! lol

dammnit i've been sayin' this since last year and noone listened to me. i think its the exact same tune lol

nod ....true...there were a couple of threads last year saying the same thing...It reminds me of a few years ago, when Brian Mcknight did "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?"...
that shit was being celebrated, when it was pretty much a carbon copy of Meshell Ndegeocello's song, "Outside Your Door"...

It sounds like he built a song around the chords for "my cherie amour"by Stevie Womder.just like Alicia wrote "Falling"around the chords for "This is a man's world".by JB.Everything has already been done so it's really difficult to be original in the this digital century.
