oh please I saw him open for Janet on the Velvet Rope tour and he dropped his pants at least twice during every song. It got to the point where I told my friends that if he did one more pelvic thrust in his boxers, I was going to go up onstage and pull his pants up for him. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Usher is what happens when you cut and paste some MJ with some Boyz 2 Men and your product is generic R&B that everyone loves to copy. Look at Mario. Can't tell anyone apart. Thanks a lot, Usher for being such a great roll model. Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.

You’ve just open your self up to barrage of WTF’s. As a resident MJ fan I wil tell you there’s a few orgers who won’t let that comment go and will argue you to death. Good Luck i do think there r a lot of mj fans (myself included), so i would agree with this...and yes, good luck
Forget Michael, Usher can't even fuck with Omarion. O can crush him. o can blow a helleva lot better than ursher, thats 4 damn sure, but im not sure how much more i like him from usher
You seriously have to be a hater or born yesterday to even say such a thing. Usher is a scrub. thank u. i could not agree with u more on this note. i absolutely cant stand all the hoop and holler that usher recieves...that boy makes me sick "...took my sex and my money...took all my self esteem...had the nerve 2 think it was funny...i never knew a bitch so mean"

I hate Usher with a burning fiery passion but I'm going to try to speak civilly and rationally here:
1.the vast majority of this debate so far is concerning dancing on which I say this: Usher is among the better MJ immitators, but's that about all he has going for him as far as dancing. He has zero originality and can't even immitate some of the more jaw-dropping stuff that michael's done (some of which you'd only know about if you'd seen concert footage of him). There are precisely two moves I've seen Usher perform that MJ hasn't ever done: the splits and a backflip and both of them were in his performance with James Brown at the Grammy's, wherein in many ways, he was schooled by the 71 year old godfather (at least in terms of putting on an interesting performance next Usher's overwrought, overchoreographed bullshit). MJ on the other hand synthesized many different styles of dancing to form an original style: 60s soul dancehall champions like Jackie Wilson and James brown as well as earlier hoofers like Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and urban street dancing (breakdancing). Plus there are more than a number of moves that practically nobody else can do as well as MJ the moonwalk being just one of many. 2. Artistically Usher has nothing on MJ, he doesn't even have anything on R. Kelly, who doesn't have anything on MJ. Usher's been in the business for awhile now, he's long past the normal developemental progression that most true artists undergo in advancing from being derivative and emulating their idols to being groundbreaking and original. Usher has yet to make any groundbreaking or original music, (he has yet to even write and produce the majority of his material himself and he had nothing to do with either aspect of YEAH!, his biggest hit so far) and it's unlikely that he ever will at this point, if he could have, he would've by now. MJ on the other hand has crafted some of the best R&B albums of all time, and written some of the best dance-funk tunes ever, and Thriller alone had more of a revolutionary impact on the music industry (even if wasn't at all artistic) than almost any other album. He evolved quite gracefully from a pint-sized frontman in vocal group with no artistic control of its music, into a gifted songwriter, producer and independant artist in his own right. 3. As a human being, MJ may be weird, possibly even insane, possibly even a pedophile, but Usher's whole personality bugs the crap out of me. He's clearly the most narcissistic, arrogant asshole in the universe who doesn't have the talent to warrant his inflated view of himself. Any trace of humility I've seen him exhibit seems so forced and prescripted it's positively barf-worthy ("I'm singing this....for ...for you Ray"). MJ at least had genuine respect for his elder-betters and didn't drip with sublimated self-satisfaction with every word he ever said. [Edited 3/27/05 2:23am] [Edited 3/27/05 2:27am]

A half-assed copy is never as good as the original. I have a long memory. Usher's impact is nothing on what happened in 1983-84.

Usher is already 27 years old (born in 1978). When MJ was 27 years old, it was 1985. MJ had already sold over 100 million albums. Usher will never be a phenom on the level of MJ. NEVER.
