MIGUELGOMEZ

Why go to a concert if they're asses are going to be sitting down and complaining about people standing up. Ugh,,I hate that.

doh! Ack! I'm not sure that got up here. Probably did. I saw Moby Dick...that was ok. Yes I have the Live In NY...she was in Chi-town 9/11. I forgot about that one...as an actual tour.

The Bright Red tour whad all the gizmos (tape bow violin, lipstick micro phone, and body suit boombox)...not sure if the one for Life on a string did.

nah. the 2001 tour was very stripped down. no slide show, no body suit boombox, no ski masks lol - just laurie and her band, with her on violin and keyboards and vocals.

I'm still kicking myself for never seeing her during the "Strange Angels" era...my favorite album of hers. But, yeah, she's amazing live, really makes you hang on her every word.

Amazing concert experiences: Sleater-Kinney (at Tramps for"Dig Me Out"), Crooked Fingers, who did an amazing Prince cover down in the middle of the audience.

i had tix in 1975, but they cancelled, so this was such a thrill

Get

the

fuck

outta here! eek

Too bad you didn't see them in '75 though, because Page's playing in '75 was so much better in than in '77. By then he was so strung out, he'd barely make it to the shows. lol But I wouldn't even care, as long as I got to see them at all. sigh I was four years old though in '77 so I probably wouldn't have appreciated it so much. biggrin

What city was this in?

no, i was talking about the musicology after shows...specifically, the house of blues in chicago. it was so bad the management even gave me comped tickets to any other HOB show i wanted to go to.

They are after shows. Why can't you figure out that they are jam sessions?
Damm I pray for the youth of today.

I think the joke was that there were no Musicology aftershows. Get it?

For me, Primal Scream were hard ot beat live. I've only seen Prince once, and he was amazing.

Having seen Primal Scream many times, I would have to say that they totally blow me away live every time

Nothing will ever top "Lovesexy" in '88 for me, but since then two shows stand-out:

1.) Annie Lennox in 2002 just before the "Bare" album came out. There's nothing like seeing and hearing her live on the piano and by herself.

2.) Tina Turner's "Farewell" tour a few years ago was great and, unlike Cher, she knew when to stop the tour. She's always said it's hard to top yourself, and after the incredible concert she gave... it's hard to think she could actually top it too.

These are close for me, but - again - NOTHING could top that Lovesexy concert. I am sooo glad there are bootlegs of it floating around!
