OKAY ADMIT IT! alright yall it's time to confess. now don't be afraid or ashamed but admit it, how many of u were fans of the 1998 - 2000 TEENY BOPPER ERA??? i know that some o yall were probably lining up around the block to get those "baby one more time" concert tickets or that new N'Sync cd. i will be the first to admit, as dreadful as it sounds, that i was a huge britney Fan!! I absolutley loved "(You Drive Me)Crazy" i thought her breakdance moves in the video was da bomb with all the media hype surrounding Britney, N'sync, Backstreet et al it almost impossible not to get caught up in the craziness. now I now i'm not the only one... so feel free to let it go. now is a time for healing .... I can appreciate some of it in a completely non-ironic way, just as I would any other piece of popular music.
For example, i think "I Want It That Way" is an utterly fantastic song. It is sort of difficult it to divorce it from the images of tacky facial hair and screaming prepubescent girls, but if you manage to do it, there's a great pop song to be found there. And I'll happily say that I think Toxic was one of the best singles I've heard in ages.

welll...i kinda rooted for Pink for like five minutes. i saw her on some VH1 special and they gave her a whole showcase, and her voice was just remarkable to me. then she went back to being lame promptly after that night's show.

Backstreet Boys
I'm buying the new album when it comes out too, if the Boys ever get off their lazy asses and do something crazy like, ya know, work on it. But hey, the single's been chosen. It's a purdy, purdy song, and the Wondertwins share lead vocals, so yay! [Edited 3/18/05 2:03am] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I admit it *huge blush* I use to think Britney spears was cool...(i was in middle school so sue me) I was into Jennifer Lopez (on the six) her cd was actually pretty good. I never purchased the backstreet boys cds but i did get them as gifts...and yes....i admit.....I listened to their songs.....then I hit puberty and things changed...

It was dance pop part 2. Yet I still prefer late 80's-esrly 90's.
I dug a few backstreet tracks though. "everybody" is class. All them max martin songs got annoying though. Plus Nsync sucked.

Well VoicesCarry used to be in my classroom and was OBSESSED with BSB.
Yes me and Voices go way back to the early beginnings of life. I persoanlly couldn't stand the Spice Girls hype and all the girlies in my class went nuts when they came to play a show in Toronto. Grade 6 and girls were scheduling hair appointments for the big show. And the fellas in my class were going too. To get their eyes on the eye candy that awaited. It was sad indeed. I remember Voices little bow tie he wore to the Spice Girls concert. He felt so grown up. Call me immature which i was and proudly still am, but i thought those spice girls were icky. And later that year we'd hear of BSB and a little bit later NSync. The classroom divided amongst the girls and Voices (Joshua as i called him) Girls would fight for their favorite boyband. Joshua and the girls who liked BSB would throw stones at the other girls who liked Nsync. And then a year later came Britney. THen Christina. And again the classroom divided. Joshua was part of the Britney clan (though he will totally deny it to this day) Joshua got upset with Britney when she started dating Justin Timberlake who was as you know part of Nsync and as we remember, Joshua was a BSB type of guy.

I said it then and I'll say it now...There is nothing wrong with liking a song 4 no other reason than it's catchy. Of course it's 25,342,432,346,435 versions of the same song complete with loops and por-tools and synthesized vocals, but honestly who cares?! Have your profound artistic statement music, but U gotta lighten up sometimes as well. No accounting 4 taste! I was and still am a fan of the Teen Pop wave of the late 20th century. As a producer/artist I did not connect with the grunge/heroin rock era.It was refreshing to hear and see something upbeat. The pop explosion provided a forum for songwriters and producers. That Max Martin/Sweden pop sound was good fun!! larry luvlife

I'll admit this
Those kids may have been processed like that shitty sliced cheese. But as an early teen during those days, the music was so much more happier and brighter. NSync, BSB, etc just made MTV so much more happier than what it is today. Today it's all about these faux punk bands and faux teen rockers and they just make everything so depressing for teens and myself. I liked it when people sang about the girl they loved as opposed to the girl they want to die

Stupid fake Opera singers and boring MOR rock like Keane or whoever. The oldies have taken over the UK. It is odd.
