Yeah, a girlfriend of mine has it. It's cool. I liked her first joint better. But, I do dig Tweet. I think she's fine as hell. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

It's a really good album!
It's not a classic like her first set, but definitely a great follow-up! Favorite joints... "Iceberg"-Charlie Bereal's guitar strumming is awesome! "You"-her signature 3-part harmony are phenomenal on this song! "Cab Ride"-good to hear the Theme from Taxi revised into a nice ballad. "My Man"-this is what music should be all about--LIVE INSTRUMENTS FOR ONCE! "Small Change"-John "Jubu" Smith does it again! "Two of Us"-the sweetest song featuring her daughter, Tashawna. It's amazing how this little girl sounds just like her mama! Overall, I give it an 8 out of 10.

I'll co-sign with you on all of those tracks. Believe it or not, I think I like this LP better than Southern Hummingbird

I like the single on the radio but I don't think she is anything special. Just another pretty face with an average voice. I give her one more album...
Missy, U did it again! | |

I love "Always Will" off her first album you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

I read something along the lines of "Missy Elliott takes her hype-woman role to new annoying heights"

I would try it if I could bear listening to Missy's smothering voice, I can't even bother with the first single/video cause of Missy's involvement, she's like a tablespoon of salt in your cereal. Jeux Sans Frontiers

Far, far from an "average voice."

Maybe it's the lack of Timbaland (even though he handle the bulk of SH). She doesn't sound like anyone's protege on this record to me. She sounds like she had more creative input on this one.

If anything, it would be nice to hear "Cab Ride," "You," or "My Man" released as a single (although I believe the last two would be a bit long for radio and if you edit them it would kind of take away from it). And you know Timbo didn't produce but like 3 or 4 tracks (at the most) from SH, right? The rest was done by Craig Brockman and Nisan Stewart.

I loved her first album. I loved the singles "Oops" and "Call Me" and also love "Drunk," "Smoking Cigarettes," and "Motel."
If I remember correctly, she came out at about the same time as Ashanti and I remember being mad that Ashanti got so much more attention, despite being a LOT less talented.

Yep, the same day (April 2nd). However, it was said that Murder Inc. bought the first 500,000 copies of her album so that she'd outsel anyone else who released an album that day.
