Anyone here like Tanya Tucker?

hey

Just bought a greatest hits compilation of this lady, after I heard her being mentioned in "redneck woman" (gretchen wilson), and man this girl can sing!...
I gues everyone knows 'delta dawn', but that's actually not one of my favorites, but tracks like "what's your mamma's name child","little things" and "love me like you used to" are just...wow! I'm definitly gonna keep an eye out for more of her music. Anyone else into her music?

Tanya Tucker is great. She's another one of those performers who I grew up listening to. Delta Dawn is one of my favorites, but I really love 'Til I Can Make It on My Own. Love her voice on that number, and the lyrics are full of heartache.

I'll need time,
To get you off my mind.
And I may sometimes bother you;
Try to be in touch with you.
Even ask too much of you from time to time.

Now and then,
Lord you know I'll need a friend.
'Til I get used to losing you,
Let me keep on using you.
'Til I can make it on my own.

I'll get by,
But no matter how I try,
There'll be times you know I'll call.
Chances are my tears will fall,
And I'll have no pride at all, from time to time.

But they say,
Oh, there'll be a brighter day.
But 'til then I'll lean on you,
That's all I mean to do.
'Til I can make it on my own.

Surely someday I'll look up and see the morning sun,
Without another lonely night behind me.
Then I'll know I'm over you and all my crying's done.
No more hurtin' memories can find me.

But 'til then,
Lord, you know I'm gonna need a friend.
'Til I get used to losing you,
Let me keep on using you.
'Til I can make it on my own.

'Til I can make it on my own.

I saw her on a local talk show this week and she didn't look well.

i just had her box set out last night to play a song to my boyfriend

it is a very strong set, she has one of the most distinct voices in music

the song was-

strong enough to bend

There's a tree out in the backyard
That never has been broken by the wind
And the reason its still standing
It was strong enough to bend

For years, we have stayed together
As lovers and as friends
What we have will last forever
If we're strong enough to bend

When you say something that you can't take back
Big wind blows and you hear a little crack
When you say "Hey well I might be wrong"
You can sway with the wind till the storm is gone
Sway with the wind till the storm is gone

Like a tree out in the backyard
That never has been broken by the wind
Our love will last forever
If we're strong enough to bend

When you start thinkin' that you know it all
Big wind blows and a branch will fall
When you say "Hey this job takes two"
We can sway with the wind till the skies turn blue
Sway with the wind till the skies turn blue

Like a tree out in the backyard
That never has been broken by the wind
Our love will last forever if we're strong enough to bend
Our love will last forever if we're strong enough to bend
