So did a few others. I don't understand the joy in seeing a person (granted, she is shallow and sort of evil) fail when they haven't done anything wrong....

Its a matter of someone who is seen as 'sort of evil' failing, I believe. I agree that alot of people just like to see celebs fail, as if they deserve it for being rich and famous. In JHo's case, I just think its 'cuz she's evil.

Love her or loathe her, uber-diva Jennifer Lopez knows how to deliver on record. She understands how to make the most of her limited vocal range, choosing to surround herself with able producers Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, Big Boi and Cory Rooney, who oversaw Lopez's first album, On the 6. The mix makes Rebirth far more enjoyable than it should be, coasting on midnight-groove ballads and polished dance tracks. Lopez's fourth studio album offers little insight into her much-gossiped-about persona, but it's an undeniably fun ride anyway. A blaring James Brown horn riff drills first single "Get Right" into your head almost immediately, and soon enough, you'll find yourself bopping to the beat. The Middle-Eastern flavor of "Step Into My World" is undeniably seductive, and it's actually enhanced by Lopez's wisp of a voice. "Whatever You Wanna Do" and "Cherry Pie" are solid dance tracks, the kind of grooves Janet Jackson made before she became a Superbowl afterthought. Elsewhere, the album is peppered with R&B ballads, much like Lopez's 2002 opus, This Is Me ... Then. Rebirth is hardly a groundbreaking affair, but it continues to showcase Lopez's skillful trend of producing solid, catchy, R&B-laced records. Nothing here ever sounds forced or canned, and in the world of MTV and radio edits, maybe that does make Lopez a bit of a revolutionary after all.

nod I LOVE this album. Usually the albums panned by critics are ones I love the best. lol
My favourite tracks are: "Step Into My World" , "I,Love", "Cherry Pie", and "Get Right" dancing jig I highky recommend at least giving it a full listen. starstarstarstar 1/2 thumbs up!

but her desultory appearance on the "Today" show may have persuaded her to rethink that plan.

What's this all about?

And since when did selling nearly half a million copies of your album in 3 weeks constitute as a flop?

Get real lol - considering what they spent on it, and what she's sold in the past (3 million copies generally), it's a bomb. The thing is plunging down the charts. If this were some obscure singer-songwriter, it would be different.

Anywho...I'm not going to say I hate her because I don't I like some of her songs and the way she dances. Shes just got flaws like everyone of us. I'm not one to judge I havent met her.

Well, I don't particularly pay attention to J-Lo's chart success, this album or otherwise. It just seems like after 3 weeks, calling something a dud is a bit premature. Of course, I have no place to really say. I never read charts or listen to the radio. So my idea of a hit is what gets played on the video channels. And I've seen enough of both of J-Lo's singles to be thoroughly sick of them.

This is Fox and they are all about drama and all about slamming established female pop stars. See Janet, Madonna, etc.

The writer of the Maceo song is James Brown. The writers of Get Right are listed as "Rich Harrison/James Brown". So what's this about not crediting him properly. Best believe they paid out the ass for that sample!
