last year,he made those comments and we got into a "slightly heated" discussion lol Apparently,VC is more interested in how Madonna is perceived by the public. He wants her to look young, stop studying Kabbalah, and just stick to simple pop/dance music...you know,do what the masses expect.Personally,I prefer my favorite artists to be true to themselves. If they need to grow and evolve,so be it.

I did NOT say any of this.

What I did say is that Madonna needs to either stop hanging out with Britney, Missy, etc. or risk tarnishing her legacy permanently. She is dangerously close to being labeled as nothing more than the 'original Britney', and she is so much more than that. I would rather her retire than continue down the path she's going. But that is my opinion, DavidEye - you've got yours, too. It seems that when they differ you get your pantyhose all in a knot. If you don't like it, just fuck off and move on. lol

Actually, you did say those things and I quoted you correctly. You said she should retire because you don't want her to become a "gay in-joke like Cher" (whatever that means, lol). You're too concerned about her legacy. That's your opinion and you're entitled. But MY opinion is that you care way too much about what the public thinks about her.If an artist makes music that I like,I could care less what everyone else thinks. As for getting my "pantyhose in a knot"....lol....No,honestly,I'm not pissed off or anything, and this is not an argument, just a difference of opinion.I do respect different opinions.Just don't expect me to remain silent and not voice MY opinion in return, especially when it's about Madonna wink

Oddly enough,we always seem to agree on other artists. But when we discuss Maddy, all hell breaks loose. No big deal though.

Gee, I wonder why that is, DavidEye. Notice a trend with you, Madonna, and anyone who disagrees with you? Yeah, I thought so.

Voicing your opinion about Madonna is fine, bashing me and questioning my fandom when I "step out of line" is not. You do that with others, too. So be it, but I know you're not in grade 3 anymore.

P.S. When you quote me from 2003 threads, at least have the decency to link to said threads so I can confirm what I said and explain it in context. I remember saying she should retire, but I had other reasons and I don't remember the "gay in-joke" comment.

Define "fan". Is this someone who is some sort of unquestioning robot and who likes every single move an artist makes? That's not a fan, it's an idiot. Maybe it's the fact that I have no problem being honest about Madonna that bothers you and DavidEye (DavidEye much more so, it seems). Oh well, nothing I can do about that.

I don't like every move that Madonna makes, and I always criticize her when I think it is warranted.I'm not one of those asskissing fans who likes everything she does.On more than one occasion,I've pointed out that I rarely listen to her first three albums.I've also made lists of her worst songs,I've criticized some of her movies, and I've complained repeatedly about her being "stingy" when it comes to releasing bonus tracks, and outtakes.I have no problem with other fans who are also honest and objective.

But come on,VC....all you ever do is bitch and complain! You complain about her studying Kabbalah. You complain about 'American Life'.You even complain about things that she can't control (such as her looks,as if this should matter). You complain about the people she chooses to collaborate with. You constantly post unflattering photos of her, basically implying that she is an ugly old hag.You try to downplay her accomplishments, suggesting that 'Evita' wasn't a success.Last year, you even bitched about all the remixes that we were getting from the 'American Life' CD! Anyday now,I expect you to start bitching about the fact that she settled down and became a mother(lol).I rarely,if ever, see you actually praising something she has done.Like I said, there's nothing wrong with being honest and objective. But damn,if you are a fan, then surely it won't hurt to actually say something nice for a change? You remind me of Bart,a guy who used to post her regularly. He dissed Prince on a regular basis, and never had anything positive to say.

Even though Janet has made some questionable career moves (like all artists do),you always give her a "free pass".Seriously,if Madonna bothers you so much, sell your Madonna stuff on Ebay (you'll make a fortune) and move on already. It's silly to continue being a "fan" of someone, while you constantly disapprove of everything they do these days.

Oh no,I'm not bashing you.Like I said, this is not an argument.Just a friendly disagreement (lol).I wish I could link you to those 2003 threads, but apparently, the search engine is not working. But I NEVER forget a heated argument/discussion that I participated in...lol...you and I actually went on and on for awhile.Trust me,you really made the "gay-in joke" comment lol

I love that record, with the exception of "I'm So Stupid" and the title track. I've defended it many times on here.).You even complain about things that she can't control (such as her looks,as if this should matter). You complain about the people she chooses to collaborate with (Missy and Britney are fuckin' stupid decisions, David - even jayaredee admits this). You constantly post unflattering photos of her, basically implying that she is an ugly old hag (Nope, she's 46 and looks it. How many times do I have to say this?).You try to downplay her accomplishments, suggesting that 'Evita' wasn't a success (No, I said that they did not make a profit considering the $70M budget. There's no arguing with math.).Last year, you even bitched about all the remixes that we were getting from the 'American Life' CD! (Um, no, I bitched about the MISSY ELLIOTT AMERICAN DREAM REMIX (1 mix!) which was a hot mess) Anyday now,I expect you to start bitching about the fact that she settled down and became a mother(lol).I rarely,if ever, see you actually praising something she has done.Like I said, there's nothing wrong with being honest and objective. But damn,if you are a fan, then surely it won't hurt to actually say something nice for a change? I've argued with Sassy many times about the quality (lack thereof) of Damita Jo. See his comments above).Seriously,if Madonna bothers you so much, sell your Madonna stuff on Ebay (you'll make a fortune) and move on already. It's silly to continue being a "fan" of someone, while you constantly disapprove of everything they do these days.

You know, for someone who doesn't take this seriously, you're writing way too many paragraphs about it.

As I've said, if you don't like what I have to say, ignore it, fuck off and move on!

Trust you? How about you posting a link? If you were really quoting me verbatim, you must have a link somewhere.

It says a lot more about you that you remember all your Madonna arguments verbatim. Get a life!

Sassy said she looked "fabulous "in candids. No, she looks like a regular 46-year-old woman - which was my point. I posted three real candids, not "made-up-for-the-media" candids.

ok, so look...i'm a mildly attractive fellow - not gorgeous or hot or anything like that, but i wouldn't say i'm unattractive. many god awful photos have been taken of me 1) when i didn't know a picture was being taken, 2) in bad lighting when i did know a picture was being taken 3) from an awful angle when i did know a picture was being tsken, etc, etc. so, like i said before, if i had people following me constantly, they are bound to get some really bad photos. madonna is no different.

Exactly. We all take bad photos.Sometimes we go out in public without really caring if we look out best. But to those folks criticizing Maddy, let's see them post THEIR photos here.Let's see how they look when they're 46.

No,it's not a "trend" at all.In fact,I get along well with other people on this site who regularly criticize Madonna.I've said in the past that I find Gman to be "amusing and fun to have around".He's very harsh, but he's also a great debater and he gives credit where it is due.Ask Sassy about the long discussion we had in 2003 before 'American Life' came out.He said that he doesn't think Madonna is an artist at all.But I understand why he feels that way,and he also makes many positive comments too. He's able to focus on the good and the bad.Don't make it seem as if I'm enemies with anyone here who doesn't like Madonna. That is bullshit and you know it.Hell,I'm even civil with you,in spite of everything wink

Civil to your platform toes, darling.

However, you should leave others alone and let them have their say about Madonna. You're one of the reasons why the phrase "Madonna Brigade" was coined. I can't believe the huge amount of bullshit you've been spewing in this thread (I was bitching right and left about American Life? Don't think so...) just to "prove" that I'm not a fan. A real fan criticizes when he or she feels it's justified - you ignore my positive statements about Madonna and hold a grudge over the negative ones. I'm sure you remember the many, many times I've defended Madonna alongside you - oh, you don't? Your choice. But sos put it best - "cut the smugness shit, DavidEye, it's not very attractive".

http://www.prince.org/msg/8/79780

http://www.prince.org/msg/8/83834

http://www.prince.org/msg...74?jump=26

And gman1966 a great debater - what crack are you on? That guy could only ever muster a "MADONNA'S UGLY OLD HO" or "MADONNA'S NOTHING COMPARED TO THAT FINE-ASS SISTA, JANET!". If you consider that a good debate, I can understand why you dislike me.
