legendary house diva Ultra Nate's (It's Over Now, Rejoicing) birthday bash was saturday night in Baltimore,MD...old girl got up on the wheels of steel and spun some great house music for a minute, along with legendary DJ Thommy Davis (Basement Boys). Then appearing on stage was the great Jocelyn Brown, who started out her set with with Inner Life's "Caught Up in a One Night Love Affair"...she was then joined on stage by the great Maysa Leak of Incognito..and the two of them performed "Nights Over Egypt". Jocelyn then wrapped up her set with the classic "Somebody Else's Guy"...then there was more great house music..but being the old head I am, I had to leave at 4 am. Great party!!

I love Ultra Nate. That must have been a banging party! Good to know she's out there doing her thing.

the best way to describe the feeling was to quote a Prince song..
"white, black puerto rican, everyone was just a freakin!"
the other two Basement Boys Teddy Douglass and Jay Steinhour, were also there, but they didn't play. It felt like 1989 all over again
