Santana's new CD 'Todo Lo Que Soy' is due on June 14th

Carlos Santana has just finished his new CD.It is titled 'Todo Lo Que Soy (All That I Am)' and will be released on June 14th.The album is said to be a return to Carlos' roots and it will feature "alot of mesmerizing guitar",according to Carlos. Not sure what the final tracklist looks like or who will appear on it,but in recent months,Carlos has recorded songs with Los Lonely Boys,Joss Stone,Michelle Branch,Black-Eyed Peas,Mary J.Blige,Wesley Scantlin (of Puddle Of Mud),and Big Boi of Outkast.

Carlos is also producing a new CD for his pal Buddy Guy,and is getting ready for a lengthy world tour, which begins this summer.

Oh, so it's going to be just like the last two outings. Carlos, please drop the celeb friends and get back to what you do best. My god, was that "Game Of Love" song embarrassing or what?

I actually like "The Game Of Love",but I do see your point lol

Because of the amazing success of 'Supernatural' (25 million copies sold),I doubt that Arista will ever let Carlos make a new album without the guest stars. It's a shame, but if the songs are good,I won't really complain.

wow. well, all i can say is that i hope Antonio Banderas sings on one of the tracks. it's about time Carlos started aspiring to really god-awful crap instead of the just bland crap of the last few years.

what's really sad is that he has an instrumental album called 'Hymns',but I don't think Clive Davis cares about it...lol...record companies only see dollar signs. They want another 'Supernatural'.

In other Santana news...I'm sad to report that two of the guys in his band (Raul Rekow and lead singer Tony Lindsay) are no longer with the band. What a major loss! To those of you have seen Santana live in concert, you know what I mean.

But how are da duets his rootz? hmmm

Surely since he did well wif his past few recent albumz, his individual work should be appreciated?

My dad was a big Santana fan so i grew up wif his music- so when "Smooth" came out i really loved it. I don't like "Game of Love" it seemz so blah in comparison to other trackz he's done. I fink he probably initially did so well because his come-back was in unison wif da whole latino craze of da early naughtiez. I mean to many of our earz he'z amazing, but da pop target audience may not have been as well recieving otherwise. Having said this, i know those who were fanz of Santana in da past were quite excited about his new albumz. So he can appeal to a larger target audience. And now dat everyone knowz who he is again- he can throw his duetz away, cause just like in da first place- he never need it! hmph!

damn phrasing edit.

I always advise new fans that,if they wanna hear the REAL Santana, forget his new stuff.Go back and pick up albums like'Abraxas','Caravanserai''Borboletta',and 'Festival'.

I totally agree. Santana is one of my fave guitarists and has been a HUGE influence on me. I have EVERY single one of his releases, be it on wax or cd. Most of them are on wax and I have had them almost all of my life. This new release is good news to me. I've seen Santana twice in concert. I reckon I'll be going to see him on this tour as well. Thanx for the hip!

One of my favorite Santana albums - Blues for Salvador cool Deeper, Dig Deeper, and the title track are just great displays of Santana guitar playing w/Chester Thompson on the keys.

what are your favorite Santana albums? Since you're a guitarist,I bet you dig albums like 'Lotus' and 'Sacred Fire' (explosive live albums where Carlos kicks ass on guitar).

nod 'Blues For Salvador' is musical bliss. That album is addictive!

I often listen to Disc Two of his box set 'Dance Of The Rainbow Serpent'.His guitar playing on those songs is just incredible.
