Sade: steaming homophobe? OK, I was chatting with some guy and I told him I loved Sade's "Diamond Life" and he said to me that he didn't like Sade because she's a vicious homophobe. So is it true? Does Sade not like gay people?

2. Why does everyone these days have this arrogant sense of entitlement to know how everyone else feels about everything? Too many reality shows? I don't know if she's homophobic. I'm not gay, so its a non-issue for me anyway. I'm sure there are some artists that I like that may not be all that fond of black folks, but that's not why I buy their music. Its none of my damn business (or anyone else's) how they "feel" about anything. The only right any consumer has to an artist is the right to buy or not to buy their music. Either you like an artist or you don't. | |

When you become a public figure or a star, expect to be in the spotlight. Sade's not a private person, so she's under scrutiny. I won't support someone who announces that they are homophobic, racist, anti-Semitic, etc. Now Sade potential homophobia was brought to my attention. I like some of her music and it startled me that she may be homophobic so I brought that to the boards for some clarification. I didn't say she was off-the-bat. I just would like to know as a conscious consumer. | |
