Remember that "Don't You Know" and "Stay '81" became the last song on Like a Virgin. "Stay" on LAV is more or less "Don't You Know" with a different beat.
I still say that the best song from those early demos is the early "Burning Up"; it's not as good as the album version, but it is top-notch stuff. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

The songs "Physical Attraction" and "I Know It" should have been removed from her debut album in order to make way for the songs "Don't You Know" and "Ain't No Big Deal",both of which could have been hits in 1983/84.I'm pissed that we don't have a clearer version of "Don't You Know".

No arguement that it would have been great on the album and there are songs that could have been kicked off to put it on there Better than Everybody???!!?? I don't think so. That is the track that Mark Kamins picked to play at the club the day after he heard her demo. It was the song Mark gave to Michael Rosenberg to take to Sire. It was the track Seymour Stein wanted to sign her with. Madonna as we know her today is because of Everybody. Yep...I think it's better than "Everybody"

mmmm, no and no. Physical Attraction is one of the best songs on the album (although it's a grower, not an instant favorite), and Ain't No Big Deal is just crap in all of its incarnations. I Know It on the other hand, while charming, is quite replaceable. "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

if it were up to me,this is how her debut album would have looked...
"Lucky Star" "Borderline" "Burning Up" "Don't You Know" "Holiday" "Think Of Me" "Ain't No Big Deal" "Everybody" That's a stronger,filler-free debut album."Don't You Know" would have been one of the singles.

Nah...I'm with Tessa. Replace the whimisical "I Know It" with the superior "Don't You Know". I like "Phyiscal Atraction" but also think that it doesn't grab you right away.
