She's a great artist and does art for art sake. I have to admire that. I would say I am a fan of most of her music...though the last one left me a bit cold and she has enough boxed sets that would choke a walrus...

But she's all good.

ain't that the truth!!

Of course, I love me some Bjork. While I quickly cooled from Medulla, the rest of her releases rank in my all time favorite lists. And, seeing her live in Belgium at the Torhout (spelling?) Festival during the Homogenic tour ranks as my single best live performance ever. (yup, that's right, even above our boy Prince!)

I actually like her in the SugarCubes better.

What are you hiding for? giggle I love the Sugarcubes. Birthday is one of my favorite songs of all time. Blue-Eyed Pop and Planet are my other two favorites by them. But at times I felt like they were kinda sorta ripping off the B-52's schtick.

Her music and persona are not for me. I think she's a great image-shaper and very intelligent woman, though. Much better than Madonna.

Funny you should say that many people see Bjork as Madonna's main inspiration of the last 10 years, She's a more commercial version for the masses kinda like a McBjork, but I guess a bjork imatation is better than what else people are regurgatating on the radio.

mmmmm, not really.

that's the part i was disagreeing with. i really don't see it. yes, the style of music and the production is heavily influenced by the sound Bjork made hot and exotic in the mid-90's, but as for the songs themselves, i don't see a Bjork inspiration, aside from the one Bjork herself wrote.

madge cant go deep like that..she took the surface of what bjork was doing (probably the stuff she could mass-produce) and made it her own.....

and bjork went in the complete opposite direction while madge took it mainstream...i find that interesting....

I'm not a fan, but I do like Björk. She is so refreshing and truly original....and in today's world, truly original is rare. I love some songs especially, like "Army Of Me", "All Is Full Of Love" and "Venus As A Boy". Plus of course she has shown me her great acting skills as well...
In my opinion, Björk is cool, just because she is sometimes SO weird, and makes good music. Awesome airy voice.

two different bands from very different countries simply came up with a similar way of doing things, it happens all the time. i don't think the sugarcubes copied the B52s style at all.
