Well the Rain Exploded with a Mighty Crash as We Fell into the Sun

One of my favorite albums from my childhood is this one right here

I remember hearing it a lot around the house when I was younger, but I didn't really listen to it on my own a lot until recent months. Lately, I've been dipping more into my boyfriend's music collection. He's a fan of all things Beatles, and this is one that we both love. The title track (along with the kick-ass Jet) are my faves on the album. I always thought it sounded like three songs rolled into one, and the keyboard part always makes me smile.

Stuck inside these four walls, sent inside forever,
Never seeing no one nice again like you,
Mama you, mama you.
If I ever get out of here,
Thought of giving it all away
To a registered charity.
All I need is a pint a day
If I ever get out of here.

Well, the rain exploded with a mighty crash as we fell into the sun,
And the first one said to the second one there I hope you’re having fun.
Band on the run, band on the run.
And the jailer man and sailor sam were searching every one

For the band on the run, band on the run, band on the run, band on the run

Well, the undertaker drew a heavy sigh seeing no one else had come,
And a bell was ringing in the village square for the rabbits on the run.
Band on the run, band on the run.
And the jailer man and sailor sam, were searching every one

For the band on the run, band on the run, band on the run, band on the run

Well, the night was falling as the desert world began to settle down.
In the town they’re searching for us every where, but we never w ill be found.
Band on the run, band on the run

And the county judge, who held a grudge
Will search for evermore
For the band on the run, band on the run, band on the run, band on the run

Yeah, the whole album is superb, but I could listen to those two tracks alone non-stop!

This is a great album. Many good songs and great memories too. Their Wings over America album is excellent too. I still listen to both on occasion.

Is that "guess who's knockin'" track on there?

"jet" is cool I guess.

But it is just too watered down 4 me though.

sad Hey Jermey Jordan can roll and funk more then Paul can.

Infact Paul is about as funky as Cliff richard (errr he didn't break america did he?)

music My favorite song on the album is "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five", although I don't know what it's about. Is it supposed to be some post-Orwellian theme, or is it just bunch of non sequiturs?

Along with the Greatest Hits, this is most likely the only Wings or Paul McCartney CD I'll ever own. Almost the entire CD is good, and Paul doesn't really slip into his ususal sap (except on Bluebird ill ).

Ya know . .it'd been ages since I'd heard 'Jet' but I rediscovered it one night about 10 years back-- I was at a nyc party called Squeezebox and the dj played it. Hearing this song at an appropriately loud volume--for the first time since uhh, junior high--was truly something. I finally realized it was one hell of a nice piece of glam rock. Ziggy saxes and everything.

"Jet" is one of the songs that you just have to play at a loud volume headbang

superb album.

best Wings record by a mile. And there were some other goodies too. nod

Jet is probably my least favourite track right now, but maybe that's due to overexposure, i dunno. shrug
