Smokey Robinson "one heartbeat"

Yeah i bet 60's lovers hate this album, but infact it is almost devoid of any of the typical 80's synth harshness ala Billy Ocean. The songs themselves are well crafted too and do not rely on sound effects etc as hooks (which Iam a sucker for).

"just to see her" musta been a single. It has that "slow hand" quality about it. Love that track along with the title track and the amusing retroesque(?) "It's time to stop shoppin' around".

"why do memories hurt so bad" is as sad as it sounds. Like this one too.

"you don't know what it's like" is more typical 80's but I like it.

This album amazinly has not dated anywhere near as badly as time would suggest. After all it was released in 1987. Jermaine Jackson Arista years this is not!

Anyway good album

"Just To See Her" was a single. nod

I don't hate this album, but it's far from my favorite Smokey. I'm of course more of a fan of his earlier Motown stuff, but this isn't a bad album. The title track though, makes me a little ill
