"Fantasy Is Reality" is my favorite ballad from Parliament. From Parliament's Live/P.Funk Earth Tour album from 77. It was a studio recording for the album, placed at the midnight hour. It was an older song that dated back to 1970. It was specifically re-cut just for this album. Man, I just love this song. The melody, the old-time gospel feel, all that mixed with some beautiful guitar leads.

Yup! I like both, the original and the revised version...

As if I don't have enough CDs, I'll have to go get this one. I don't believe I've heard this one before, P-Funk has so much stuff out that I've never heard before.

What makes me mad is that its not
on the CD.....

If I recall correctly, that version was also on the 'Tear the Roof Off' compilation.


Speaking of Parliament . .has anybody heard anything about any more upcoming remastering of the catalogue??? I keep praying they'll get around to polishing up some Funkentelechy . . .

This cut solidified my love for Parliament and made me pay closer attention to their ballads. I was in college before I actually (re)discovered the catalog of Parliament. I used to piss everyone off in the dorm playing this song and loud and as many times as I could.

However, I have to admit a strong weakness for the Up For The Downstroke version of ALL YOUR GOODIES ARE GONE.

Parliament, as popular as they are, I STILL feel they are truly underated. I wonder if folks truly grasp the... deepness. Is that a word? I mean, Parliament-Funkadelic, to me, was the most versatile and most conceptual band. They put other 70's funk, r&b, rock bands to shame. See, Parliament could play Zeppelin. Zeppelin couldn't play Parliament.
