There are boatloads of artists that could have inducted them that knew more of their history & struggle than Justin, plain & simple. This picking of Jusrin was a corporation thing.

I think that even in their protest, they were not discourteous to Justin Timberlake. Walter said, and rightly so, that there are a few (there are actually PLENTY) of people who are more aware of the history of a group like the O'Jays! When you look at those who inducted the other people, it's ever clearer that someone else with some semblance of a relationship to the music that the O'Jays have done over the years would hae been more appropriate. I don't think they were being pompous or egotistical, just honest and unfortunately, the HOF, as usual, did not respect their opinion about it.

I can probably guarantee that Justin Timberlake didn't know (or give) two shits about the group prior to being contacted by his manager and reading a damn biosheet.

what's wrong with you, they have a right to have an E-G-O because they are legends. Justin Timberfake only has one album and now he suppose to be some kind of expert on Black music just because he worked with Timberland and Pharrell on his album...give me a break.

Damn right they had a problem with a person who lets others take the blame for something that they were involved in. It just shows how shallow he is, not as an artist, but as a person.

This is like Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan inducting Madonna into the Hall of Fame...how would you feel then???
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Even if Justin did jam to the O'Jays as a freakin' toddler that doesn't boost his status where he should have the honor of introducing the legendary group. They can get established and respected artists like Bruce for U2 and Neil Young for the Pretenders and somehow Justin is okay for the O'Jays? I can't even believe that stuff upthread about Lil' Kim for EWF. Then the inductees protest and the RRHF can't make an adjustment? They can't cater to the honorees a little? Seems like they'll get any ole body to introduce some artists while others are introduced by veterans or artists connected to the inductee(s).

it would be more fitting if they got an ex labelmate like say Billy Paul... or Teddy, shit even Kenny and Leon... but the o'jays is a lil mad at Kenny and leon tho'

Agreed 100%. I was a Justin Timberfake/flake fan for a hot minute until this wardrobe malfunction episode and after he pussied out. I've lost respect for him.

Maybe the O'Jays will get their way and get somebody from their generation that deserves to induct them. I ain't mad at cha, O'Jays. I don't blame ya.
