The jump off would be Get Down on it by Kool in the Gang(I like that song) The one to start the party would have to be "All Night Thing" by The Invisible Man's Band. Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! Side note: did you know that the Invisible Man's Band is none other than The Five Stairsteps? This post not for the wimp contingent. Wouldn't that be Betty Davis? The album that featured the super-raunchy Millie Jackson style we've all come to know and love... ...Caught Up was released in '75. However she was far from a demure singer on her debut release... ...in '72, Millie Jackson That's where the raps started with A Child Of God and a tune like Strange Things gave you a big clue as to what she had up her sleeve (or skirt if you will). The Betty Davis album titled... ...Nasty Girl was also released in '75. But Ms. Davis did the "nasty girl" thing out of the gate on her debut release in '73. So although Betty (i.e. Ms.Davis) may have had the official title 1st, her vanishing act gave Millie the crown by default. It's should be hers forever for this cover alone... ...Back to the Shit What a woman! tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I'm glad to see you mentioned Bobby "Blue" Bland. I love it when he gets together with B.B. King. Don't forget the late Mr. Z.Z. Hill. I'd want Ms. Millie Jackson to MC for the evening. She's definately a nasty girl. I'd like to see a little older, southern version of a nasty girl trio consisting of Millie Jackson, Denise LaSalle, and the late Ms. LaWanda Page (Aunt Esther)....I'd call them Millie 6. I don't see Betty Davis there. She was pretty nasty in her own right. I have never heard of Betty Davis until I joined the org. After reading about her on the org and hearing comments by orgers whose opinions I trust, I've definately got my eyes open for her in the record stores these days. Andy is a four letter word.

I have a CD that contains both albums, "Caught Up" and "Still Caught Up", on the same CD. I picked this one up a few weeks ago: It is a two CD set that contains her 1979 album "Live and Unscensored" and her 1982 album "Live and Outrageous". Millie is live, raunchy, and outrageous on these and talks plenty of cash shit. She definately proves she is the queen of the "rap". I enjoyed both CDs thoroughly from start to finish.
