Madonna working with Mirwais again From MTV.com:
Madonna continues to plug away at her new album, and while questions are rampant about what it will sound like and who she's working with, at least the latter part of those queries can now be answered. According to her label rep, Madonna's teamed up once again with French producer Mirwais as well as Stuart Price, her musical director on the Reinvention Tour. At least one song title is known so far: "I Love New York." Totally fuckin' stupid move, Madge!

There must be something going on between Mirwais and Madonna. I can't imagine why she would want to continue to work with him anymore.
He's probably going to bring out that tired electronic sound again I fear the worst

If Stuart Price is responsible for some of the reworkings I heard during the show then that might not be such a bad idea, but her and Mirwais have RUN their course. She'd be better off hooking up with Daft Punk (long rumored) or Basement Jaxx. If her rock project is a go I'd be ALMOST tempted to say go with The Matrix or Glen Ballard or POSSIBLY everybody's go-to girl Linda Perry.

Yeah for Madonna it would have to be something that would make Michael Jackson's antics seem human.....

MTV.com is definitely trustworthy. They're usually a reputable source.
Madonna with Mirwais? No. That's not a good move. That "Mirwais sound" is soo pre-millennial. "Music" all over again. Maybe the guy's cooking up some hot production for her, who knows?

Does this seem like Madonna's type? He doesn't look too British but maybe his looks and ways in bed is what's winning him Madonna's money. Though if they work together again, i don't anticipate much money in Madonna's pocket

Hmmmmm it seems a few of her singles charted alright in Europe from AL. Maybe she's completely out of touch with North America right now and doesn't give a shit about us...

I liked AL too but i really don't need anymore of Mirwais electronic sound Apparently Madonna is on bad terms with Warner now so maybe she purposely wants to make an album no one will buy to screw Warner over. Kinda like Prince Which makes me wonder is this why Madonna changed her name to Esther. Does being attached to Warner's label for a long period of time cause one to want to change their name hence "do i have to change my name???" Holy crap!!! Yes i think too much [Edited 3/15/05 12:59pm]

I think if she did an original Missy production without reworking "Into The Groove" and released it around the time Missy's "Supa Dupa Fly" (or even "Da Real World") came out, she would've gotten more cool points in my book. But when she released that "Into The Hollywood Groove" single a while back, it was already sounding dated and tired. Everyone's worked with Missy, Madonna. You haven't tapped into uncharted territory.

I've got no problems with Missy. But when I heard about a dance rock album I was kinda excited. We'll see if it pans out. What I'd really love to see is another r+b record from her.

Mannnnn I hope not. It was obvious to me, the very first time I heard American Life, that her collaboration with Mirwais had run its course. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy alot of that album, but much of it seemed like a re-tread. I was really excited about the things I was hearing about her new album, but now my hopes are somewhat dashed. Totally fuckin' stupid move, Madge! not completely. while i'd like to see her branch out again, and Mirwais has probably overstayed his welcome (even though AL is one of my favorite albums by her, despite its inconsistency), i can't say i'm TOO disappointed by this. Nothing Fails, Nobody Knows Me, Music, Don't Tell Me, Intervention.... if there's even one song as good as those with him on the new project, then i'll be glad she worked with him again. and we know she's worked with Stuart Price and that Depeche Mode guy, so I have a feeling this is going to be a multi-producer project. her most classic and beloved work is always done when she's working with a handful of (2 or 3) producers, as opposed to just one. so i'm not all that alarmed by her working with Mirwais again. it could be a situation like Like A Prayer, where it's mostly with one producer, and the old stand-by (Stephen Bray, in that case) got a couple of tracks in there as well. and the album was that much better for it, even though it might've been argued that she'd pretty much used up Stephen Bray by then with LAV, TB, and WTG. i guess i'm saying that ideally, she'll have a few tracks from Mirwais on there, but the rest of the project will be with new people. not a stupid move for her at all. It's been stated on a couple sites... drownedmadonna.com and madonnalicious.com that Madonna orginally had a much harder sound for the AL album more akin to the Remixed Revisited, but Warners made her go back and soften it up. It failed. Maybe Madonna and Mirwais' first vision would have been spot on. We'll have to see if Warner keeps their ass out of the kitchen this time.
