Huey had a big one. Well there was a bulge of his on Fore! (hey it was my brothers album..and yes I looked. ) I sorta recall something about him regarding that...(Though Chris Iasak has supposedly a big one as well)...

See my above comment on the name of the Sports album.

I wish I could wear white with pink polkadots and a gold tutu and dance a ballet set to the music of GWAR.

The News (aka Clover) were the backing band on My Aim is True by Elvis Costello. At least they were responsible for one great album wink .

Nothing heavy.
Simply another example of a Top 40/Frat-party band that got a break.

Outside of the obvious hits...

...the one time they tried to stretch a bit, this record was considered a flop compared to their others.

Even with the help of the Tower Of Power horn section, Bruce Hornsby and Stan Getz.

Surprised I haven't seen one of these (finger) yet. lol

headbang I used to love Huey Lewis and the News!! In theory, I still do, although I haven't heard them in years.

My favorite was IF THIS IS IT, followed by Power of Love. I was just a little kid then, ahh brings back memories.

I like several of their songs...

"Hope You Love Me Like You Say You Do"(1982)
"Do You Believe In Love"(1982)
"I Want A New Drug"(1983)
"Perfect World"(1988)
"You Mean The World"(1988)

They're a good band with good songs."Hope You Love Me Like You Say You Do" is a soulful masterpiece, and it features the Tower Of Power horns.

When I was 4 or 5, and also like Wham!, Pointer Sisters and, yknow, Muppet Babies, I liked Huey Lewis:

"I Want A New Drug" (beginning of this video still remembered vividly)
"If This Is It"
"Power Of Love"

Yeah I guess they had some decent songs. I just never knew anyone that was a big fan of theirs.

They actually had some good harmonies, too. I remember learning the guitar solo to "If This Is It" - I thought that was a really good tune. In my very humble opinion, I think Huey Lewis and The News were/are a good, hard-working band with some catchy songs, though "A Couple of Days Off" (somethin' like that) kinda "jumped the shark" for me...

I have to say that I rather like Huey Lewis... back in the day I thought he was really hAWt! lol Come to think of it, if he's in at least as good a shape as he was in the movie "Duets", I'd still do him.

lol

Oh, and why is the topic used the word "liked" (as in past tense)? They're still around, had a new album out as recently as 2001, and have a soon to be released DVD of a concert filmed late last year in celebration of them being together for 25 years.

I thought this album was pretty good. I seem to recall it being the most listen-able from start to end.
