The News (aka Clover) were the backing band on My Aim is True by Elvis Costello. At least they were responsible for one great album . I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Nothing heavy. Simply another example of a Top 40/Frat-party band that got a break. Outside of the obvious hits... ...the one time they tried to stretch a bit, this record was considered a flop compared to their others. Even with the help of the Tower Of Power horn section, Bruce Hornsby and Stan Getz. Surprised I haven't seen one of these () yet. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I used to love Huey Lewis and the News!! In theory, I still do, although I haven't heard them in years.
My favorite was IF THIS IS IT, followed by Power of Love. I was just a little kid then, ahh brings back memories.

When I was 4 or 5, and also like Wham!, Pointer Sisters and, yknow, Muppet Babies, I liked Huey Lewis:
"I Want A New Drug" (beginning of this video still remembered vividly) "If This Is It" "Power Of Love"

They actually had some good harmonies, too. I remember learning the guitar solo to "If This Is It" - I thought that was a really good tune. In my very humble opinion, I think Huey Lewis and The News were/are a good, hard-working band with some catchy songs, though "A Couple of Days Off" (somethin' like that) kinda "jumped the shark" for me... I have to say that I rather like Huey Lewis... back in the day I thought he was really hAWt! lol Come to think of it, if he's in at least as good a shape as he was in the movie "Duets", I'd still do him.
Oh, and why is the topic used the word "liked" (as in past tense)? They're still around, had a new album out as recently as 2001, and have a soon to be released DVD of a concert filmed late last year in celebration of them being together for 25 years. [Edited 3/16/05 20:55pm]
