Comment on what the person above is listening to......... Like the dozens of "what are u listening to right now" threads but u get to add a comment about the above song.
Right now for me is Al Jarreau "pleasure" ( on headphones as Iam too hype to sleep right now ) Even if u don't know the song. Just say so and make ur play. [Edited 3/8/05 17:23pm]

I've never heard that track either. I'm currently listening to Kenny G's cover of Outkast's "The Way You Move". There's a thread with a link to it - so that's what I'm listening to. Well, for the next few seconds, anyway.

I love "FM" by Steely Dan but hate "Cosmic Girl" by Jamiroquai.
Could somebody recommend a Steely Dan album to me? I've always liked all their singles when I've heard them on the radio but never really investigated further. I don't like too much noodly instrumental solos though - I think that's what's kept me away from them. They had this aura about them that screams "prog rock". Are they like an American ELO? Oh - I'm currently listening to a Trip-Hop remix of "Summertime" by Sarah Vaughan.

Know Allmusicguide review of the song A straight-up love song, "Eye Know" fits in the general concept of De la Soul's debut album both through the clever use of unexpected samples (the song is built on a lazy, jazzy groove powered by a sliver of Otis Redding's whistling from the coda of "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" and a vocal snippet ? which provides the song title ? and horn lick from Steely Dan's "Peg") and through the shyly romantic verses, in which Posdnous and Trugoy each impress the objects of their affection through a conscious rejection of the gender stereotypes that were already poisoning hip-hop by 1989. The rappers were still in their teens during the writing and recording of this album, and the lyrics of "Eye Know" sound like the words of two awkward but sincere kids who are looking for lasting relationships in place of quickie fun. This is a rare and admirable trait in any genre of pop music, not just rap, and it gives "Eye Know" an endearing earnestness lacking from sillier exercises like "Jenifa Taught Me (Derwin's Revenge)."
