I'm actually watching American Idol for the first time this season. I'm surprised no one in this thread has mentioned Carrie Underwood, who is BY FAR the best female singer in the bunch.

I like Nadia Turner's look and attitude a lot, and her voice is solid. Besides Carrie and Nadia, the girls are hit-or-miss -- not all that impressive.

The guys, on the other hand, are extremely talented overall. I would not have been sorry if Constantine had been eliminated prior to the final twelve, though.

Nikko's back in, since Mario quit due to family problems. A lot of people think he quit for recording contract reasons.

Mario was probably offered another deal.I wonder how he's going to get out of his Idol obligations.Since he made the top 12 he would be part of the American Idol tour.It will be interesting see where his career goes after all is said and done.

So while Bo is a better singer than Constantine (they really shouldn't even be compared, they're nothing alike) Constantine has much more style as a performer. Bo's just an anonymous rock singer, though I'm thrilled that ther at least is a rock singer who's good this year.

I like Nadia and the country girl. Anwar is hit or miss for me. Obviously he's great, but I'm not digging his El Debarge she-man sound lately. He sang that Chaka song in the same key she did!

I don't like the Federov guy. Just plain dorky & I hate his style. I almost like the stocky guy, but he seems like he's out of breath by the end of the song, and he really sucked this week.

Ozzie Smith's kid is good, but it seems almost unfair that he's there. He probably could be connected in a minute.

I tend to like the "performers" better than the "singers." I'm kind of like Simon, who doesn't seem to actually ever be moved or even enjoy himself, he's just looking for something marketable.
