New Gorillaz Album! just got this in my emailbox from gorillaz.com:
It's official. Gorillaz have completed recording their brand new album. The very first outing for the forthcoming album is said to be happening at this years' South by South West festival in the USA. Murdoc is rumoured to be taking the album over in person. He said, "I'm hand-delivering this precious baby myself. One slip up and these 15 tracks of gold will be splashed all over the internet faster than you can say 'bring forward the release date'" We'll keep you posted on all the latest news on the album release as soon as we have it.

I'm kind of split when it comes to the Gorillaz. I do dig their music, but I'm also a big Blur fan. I can't help feeling that each Gorillaz album that is released is one less Blur album that's going to be released. But on the other hand I can't see Blur recording Gorillaz songs. Aww, shucks, I just want Damon and Graham to patch things up and give us one last album.

i had fun with gorillaz' last album. i played on the web site, i went to their concert. it was just dumb fun and catchy music, and tina weymouth sang backup vocals on one of the songs, so that's always a plus to me. i look forward to the next one...but then again, i really liked 'mali music', too...

I don't take the band very seriously, but I really enjoyed the first CD and the stellar videos and Web Site. As for Blur vs Gorillaz. WHile i love, love, LOVE Blur, I'm fine with occasional breaks for side projects. Gorillaz is music I can't imagine coming from the Blur camp and I like hearing Damon have some silly fun.

I must give an AMEN to that Although I adore Think Tank and thought Blur kicked-ass on their last tour, I think it would be even better if Graham came back...
