How does Elton John's Peachtree Road compare to Songs From The West Coast?

I really loved Songs From The West Coast. I thought it was almost as good as his best '70s albums. But I haven't heard anything off of Peachtree Road. And the reviews I've read are pretty mixed. So I guess I'm asking if you liked Songs From The West Coast does that mean you will dig Peachtree Road?

Can you bring a big placard with Madonna's laughing face on it and buy a front row seat? biggrin

What a great idea

I can imagine him trying to come down into the audience and point his finger at me asking me to "fuck off"

Well I have heard both albums. Both CD's are along the same feel, I think Peachtree is a little more "country" sounding, a little like "tumbleweed Connection" eltons masterpiece from the 70's. I really cant compare them in terms of which is better, because i dont think u cant do that with albums by "real" artists, where not talking 50 cent here. U wont be disappointed at all, its one of my top 5 CDs of last year, very mellow, but not cheesey.

And to all Madonna fans, hey I love Madonna too, but this whole Elton-Madonna thing is done already. They both are Divas, I mean come on Madonna has had some Vicious attacks like when she said "she'd rather be dead than be Mariah Carey" I mean come on already.

Her saying that about Mariah Carrey was an opinion rather than a lie. THere's a difference

First of all saying that Madonna does not lipsynch on tour is a lie???? thats like saying Elton John is not gay.....Look they all have pre-recorded tracks, especially artists who dance alot like Madonna, Janet, Britney, etc...Its a not a knock, I mean everybody lipsynchs on American Bandstand and Soul train back in the day, they all have done that. I think the problem was the title Best Live Act...honestly how Prince didnt win I will never know, but lets be serious if Britney would have won Best Live Act, which she has in the past, we would all be on her ass.

1.Madonna sang live, i was at the concert
She apparently lipsynched 3 songs with intense choreography. that leaves about 21 other songs sung live???

2.Prince didn't win because he wasn't nominated because this award show was held in the UK where Prince failed to take his tour.....

3.Madonna does not dance as much as Janet and Britney, if you and Elton actually went to the show you would see and not have to talk out your asses.

Thanks for the opinion. I am a little wary about Elton's newer music but if Peachtree Road is anything like Tumbleweed Connection I will definitely have to pick it up. He finally seems to be interested in making good albums again, which is definitely a good thing.

And to all you Elton bashers, I would hope you would at least give him a listen. It's true that muchof his post '70s music is pretty dreadful, but at his peak he made a lot of fantastic music. If you don't like him that's fine but it's kind of silly to knock something you haven't even heard.

First of all I like Madonna so calm down. Two Prince was up for this award two years ago for his One Nite Alone tour and Lost to Britney Spears so thats why I was pointing that out. Third i have seen Madonna live, i have also seen Janet a few times and she uses alot of Pre-recorded vocal tracks, but understand Pre-recorded Vocal tracks are recorded LIVE, but the artist lipsynches to them while dancing, this is why when people talk about Britney lipsynching its dumb becuase if U listen to the track she is singing to its her own Live recording. And fourth its all opinion, I love Madonna and Janet and Britney, but I put them in a Performer class and not musician class, where Prince would be a musician Michael jackson is a performer and other things....(sorry folks, hes gonna do time)
