YOKO ONO - Does she have talent?

.

Is she an artist in her own right?

Or just a celebrity riding on the popularity of a Beetle?

she has talent, but she'll get slagged and bashed thoroughly on this thread anyway, so let the philistine pride parade begin...lol

I'm sure she has talent, but she hasn't revealed it yet.

i think it's titled "Flashdance at Home Depot."

In all fairness, I saw her show currently at SFMOMA and some of the work is not bad.

Yoko Ono is a goddess. Personally, I think her music was much better than any of John's pretentious claptrap. Seriously. I have all her albums.

Yoko has loads of talent. She's a very artistic person, that's what initially attracted John to her. Having said that, she has a terrible voice and I don't care for any songs she attempts to sing on.

John's stuff isn't half as pretentious as Yoko's

I wouldn't dare to call pretentious something I don't understand.
I don't get Stravinsky but I'll never say e was a bad musician shake

Personally I like much of her stuff (maybe listening before critizising helps a little).
Just looked and I have like 127 songs by her in my iPod right now cool

I think the answer's yes. smile

In addition to owning that incredibly wild and powerful voice, I've always felt Yoko possessed a subversive, deadpan sense of humor that a lot of people just plain weren't hip to . . .sure, I can understand why many have knee-jerk reactions to some of her more extreme music, but I've never really understood why people had such undying hatred for her--and why they think she's deserving of it. She's endured far more prejudicial hatred than any other celeb I can think of--decades of it.

Really, what the fuck is the bitch guilty of???

Sorry, she was born rich. Her pops was a big Japanese banker.

And the ladder piece--well, that was the one that won over everyone's sainted Beatle. It's funny . .yes.

What, did she screw him for the first time while they were on the ladder, or was he completely high at the time (probably the latter, since he was high for most of the 60's).

nope, if you climb to the top of the ladder, you find there's a tiny bit of text on the white panel above . .grab the hanging magnifying glass and read just one simple word: 'YES'

John thought since it said 'Yes,' the piece was literally making a positive statement (as opposed to 'No')--and its understatement made him laugh.
