Suzy Quatro!

I never realised until a few years ago that she was a bonafide artist! I remember her on Happy Days as Fonzie's girlfriend but few years ago I heard a track by her called "can the can" and it rocks! I ended up getting her greatest hits and I love it. This woman rocks and she was a major influence on Joan Jett who basically ripped off her look and sound. She also did a cover of "hit the road jack" by Ray Charles and it's funky as hell.

Anyone else into her music?

Yeah, here and there. Good cheezy glam fun. Got a soft-spot for her tune Lipstick. And Daytona Demon is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I passed her greatest hits on to my little sis, who became a big fan.

Hate to quibble about inconsequential nonsense, but she was Fonzie's girlfriend's sister, the one and only Leather Tuscadero . .kinda iconic for some of us pre-pubescent 70s brats.

Yeah, very much so. Big time songwriters Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn who wrote big hits for The Sweet, wrote "Can The Can" for Suzi, which was a big hit. I have the album "Can The Can" from 73. I remember first seeing the video "48 Crash". When I was little, I was into The Runaways bigtime. I thought Joan Jett was soooo cute and original. Then, when i saw Suzi's video "48 Crash", I knew that Joan bit oh so hard off of Suzi, it wasn't even funny. Afriend of mine older sister had all of Suzi's lps. So, I got hip to Suzi quickly.

48 Crash
Devil's Gate Drive
Rockin Moonbeam

These are all very cool cuts by Suzi, especially "48 Crash"

'48 Crash' is the only one I remember hearing on the radio . .. (for some reason, I don't count 'Stumblin' In' as a real Suzi tune)

"48 Crash" is the shit! It's Suzi's best song, to me.

BG, you are too cool for school! I knew if anyone on this board would know about Suzi's music it would be you! I love the songs you mentioned as well "move it" and many many others. Damn, I wonder if we're the only 2 black people that dig her music?

Joan Jett ripped everything off from Suzi Q. How the hell did she get away with it? and she never got her props. The originators are always forgotten which isn't fair.

Thanx, baby. We probably are.

Tell me about it! I've never seen someone blatantly rip someone else off and get away with it like that but the problem is that most people are not familiar with S. Q. so they might think Joan Jett is totally original and came out first.

that's a nice song but it's not a great representation of her music which is harder and funkier!

She had a perfect "rock'n roll" voice and attitude. I also thought she was very cute smile

One of the tabloid shows did a "where are they now" type interview with her about a year or two ago. She lives in a (haunted?) mansion/castle in England, if I remember correctly.
