Distinctive Voices

Which artists have the most unique or distinctive voices of all time? I'm not talking about the best voices, i'm just talking about artists that you hear a song by and you know it's them straight away.

Here are some of my picks!

Stevie Nicks (has the most distinctive voice in my opinion)!
Prince
Michael Jackson
Grace Jones

Will Hung (funny but true)

Right on with the rest of your list too.

Do you think Beyonce has a distinctive voice? I thought of her but i'm not so sure.

Macy Gray (say what you want about the woman, but you will remember her voice after you hear just ONE of her songs -- it's that distinctive)

Prince
Bjork
Jacques Brel

the lead singer from Vaya Con Dios (Belgian group)
Nelly Furtado

The last two ones are not among the world's famous, but still I think their voices are pretty distinctive.

75% of those people would never make it on American Idol. Funny how those artists are supposed to be the greatest of the 20th century, but a person who can't wail melismatic phrases is untalented... It's not just about the voices, now is it?
