Besides "A Day In The Life" is British Well because american music is superior . No, but seriously, I think that is one respect in which american culture is ahead of the rest of the world, sue me. and yes The Beatles were a british band, but rock n roll is an american art form.

PS. I'll see you in court, pal considering American culture is the culture exported to all others, i'd say he has a point. "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

I was specifically talking about music, but they decided to conveniently omitt that part . And Yes I still do believe that America has the edge over the rest of the world in music. Almost all popular music across the world traces its origins to america apart from ethnic folk music (and yes I hear techno was invented in russia or something but I hate it so it doesn't count )

A. Who's list is this? there's no way Prince is higher than hendrix or stevie, but this was already debated on another thread B. None of these acts would be anywhere without american, particularly african-american music. Jazz, blues, R&B, Rock and all subgenres inbetween originated in america. The Beatles would be nowhere if they hadn't grown up listening to chuck berry and elvis, and the stones, zeppelin, cream, the yardbirds etc. developed from listening to old american blues records, many of them from Chicago's Chess Records specifically. C. America and England are among the most similar cultures on the planet earth, America was after all a BRITISH colony before earning its independance, and America and England have fought side by side in two world wars. Yes I know there are differences between the two nations, but not anywhere near as drastic as say between America and France or Germany, let alone a Non-European country. Politically England and America have always supported one another and England is probably among the more capitalist nations in Europe and America is of course the shining beacon of capitalism at it's best/worst.
