Happy with the Green Day numbers. Never thought I'd see those numbers again.
Sad with the Tori numbers. Alicia can't be stopped. Fiddy? What can you say?

I kinda saw it coming too but I haven't followed the charts well enough to know how much of a fall it would take. Do I understand correctly that the last one still went gold though? It reminds me of a conversation I had with someone when "Vespertine" debuted at 19 and I was all excited and he was like that's so awful. I said that that was like the highest debut Bjork ever had and therefore it was smashing.

'Scarlet's Walk' is indeed certified gold. 'Strange Little Girls' after a top 5 debut has yet to be certified anything. However, that may be due to Atlantic just not wanting to submit the figures to the RIAA because of the way things ended with Tori.

I can't beleive the Britney Spears to Franz Ferdinand. Not that I am suprised that Franz Ferdinand is approaching platinum status (well deserved), but that Britney's sales are only slightly better. Even though much of America is sick of her (as I am), I thought she would have a few more fans buying her crap. Oh well.
In other Britney news, it appears that people are thrilled that Britney is now a married woman. In an eonline.com poll conducted on Tuesday, March 8th, when asked whether Britney should return to the public spotlight or focus on being with her new husband and raising her stepchildren, about 70 percent of respondents said that she should stay at home.

For an album full of superproducers who charge huge fees ($250,000 for 1 Dre song), it should have been selling better.

The love affair with Britney is over but never underestimate a comeback. Also, for a Britney CD, the promotion was terrible and I wouldn't be suprised if most people don't even know she released a hits set.
