What legendary singers/bands should they make a movie about? Marvin Gaye is my first choice. I'm shocked that they haven't made about him already.

Oops. I should've known there was a thread on this already. No disrespect to anyone.

No one will probably agree with this one, but I think making a movie about The Police would be quite interesting...I have their box set, Message In A Box, and there is a booklet that comes with it. This explains all of their humble beginnings, how they formed, etc. This would make a very good storyline for a movie. [Edited 3/6/05 10:54am]

I'd love to see something on Otis Redding or Hank Williams, I don't know much about their music aside from their hit songs, I think their lives were interesting enough for a movie. Even though Marvin Gaye has been mentioned, he's worthy of a movie. Jeux Sans Frontiers

Joe Meek.
He wasn't an artist or musician per-se, but a record producer. He really was a complete and utter "character". He was a pioneer of electro-pop in the late fifties and early sixties. He used to hang around graveyards tape-recording the ambience. He believed he could communicate with cats. He was gay and tended to make pop-stars of pretty-boy types. He was also obsessed with flying saucers and seances. He ended up shooting the landlady of his apartment and then shooting himself. Definitely weird but still a genius. Here's a brief biography: http://www.tsimon.com/meek.htm Here's a downloadable album of some of his "output". I guess he was pretty wild for the times: http://www.comfortstand.c...talog/037/

I agree,a Marvin biopic is long overdue.A script was completed in 1997 and submitted to a major movie studio, but I think Marvin's family had problems with it.Every other scene featured Marvin snorting coke. The sad truth is,Marvin's life was filled with drama and tragedy, and there's no way around it.
