Jacques Brel 
Although no one on this site seems to know him, I need to start at least one thread a year about this fantastic (Belgian) performer. He sang in French, had the most passionate voice I've ever heard, wrote the most beautiful lyrics ever etc...(and died in 1978) If you know some French, check him out! If you don't, try it!

I do know him but i find him too melodramatic when he sings.
