You're right. I checked out Corina on Google and she is the same chick behind "Summertime Summetime." It was remake, but it was a moderate hit in the late 90s.

right but keep it real.. Nocera's was the Original smile

Paula Cole's huge hit was the "Dawson" favorite "I Don't Wanna Wait", although "Cowboys" did better on the pop charts.

Man, now how could I forget that?

Speaking of nauseous TV themes-turned-chart hits, let's add The Rembrants' "I'll Be There For You" from the NBC show Friends.

It wasn't that hard to forget. Despite a lot of hype (which I'm not saying was a bad thing, she was good and all) for her as a major artist during the Lilith era, her songs where diffently more famous than she was. I can imagine that many people don't realize that she was the same "hippychick"....which reminds me....

Soho-Hippychick It was released in 1990 even though it seems like an eighties song.

What was her second?

"That's What Love Is For", "Every Heartbeat"...there were a few from that album alone, actually.

She released a Greatest Hits album like last year just of her pop stuff and itw as well deserved.

Her first big hit and the one that got her in trouble with Christian music fans, who she made albums for was a number one on the pop and AC charts with Peter Ceatra and "Next Time I Fall".

Top Ten (and all from one album "Heart In Motion"):

Baby Baby
Every Heartbeat
That's What Love is For
Good For Me

Top Twenty:

I Will Remember You (also from HIM)
Lucky One

Top Forty:

House Of Love

Despite not charting on the pop charts, her 1997 single "Takes A Little Time" hit an impressive number four on the AC charts, where most of her songs chart now.

I knew it sampled some older but not much older alt rock song, which is probably why I think of it as an eigties song.

Slow down! I've spotted a few that aren't really one hit wonders. Also, "No Myth" was 1987.

La Bouche had another mainstream hit with "Sweet Dreams", not to mention a bunch of club hits.

Aqua's "Lollipop" shockingly hit 23!

Stacci Orrico. Even though it charted at only 52, her song "Stuck" got a lot of radioplay and I would say it was her first hit.

Vitamin C's "Graduation" only hit 38 but was a bit hit for her and all the keeds that year. Also, I remember Sony pushing her single "The Itch" like it was a new crack and even though I remember the sell through single sitting on shelves for a long time, it did mange to hit 45.

Are you sure those songs charted here in the USA, or were they hits in Europe? It's possible that some artists who are one-hit wonders here may be very popular overseas and vice versa.

Az Yet - Last Night

They had a second and bigger hit with a cover of Chicago's "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" shortly after their first hit.

THAT'S the song I was thinking about yesternight. I was wondering the name of the group. I just remember the video was on MTV all the time back in the late '90s and there were two simultaneous screens (just like Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)").

La Bouche - Be My Lover

They also had a hit with "Sweet Dreams".

You came up with a good list, though. I'm downloading a lot of those songs you mentioned.

Based on some of the artists that have been listed...

Gerardo (Rico Suave) had a second release from the same album that got some play in L.A. and on MTV called We Want The Funk.
Don't know if that's technically a hit but it got some play.

Amy Grant also had Every Heartbeat and That's What Love Is For along with the Peter Cetera duet The Next Time I Fall.

The Spin Doctors 1st hit was Little Miss Can't Be Wrong.

Sixpense None The Richer had There She Goes (couldn't get away from that tune shake) along with Kiss Me.

...these are tunes i've heard played enough times to qualify them as minor hits at least.

I like to think of that song as the unoffical Maury Pouvich theme. I remember one day when the show was on my sister and I downloaded that song and started to blast it! I used to Maury but it's not as much fun without my little sister (and I try to watch it with ohters....it's not the same). sad

I forgot about Sixpence. In Detroit (well, mostly the lite rock station that plays in Detroit and Canada) their verison of "Don't Dream It's Over" got airplay for well over a year, so it was a hit here, despite the fact that it seemed to be playing even though the band had been broken up and the album was all but forgotten.
