I got the 45 also. I remember them playing "When You Touch Me" on the radio the next year. I didn't know they had released it as a single though. I simply flipped my 45 over and started playing the B Side the next year.

They were great. The last thing I heard from Skyy was "Givin' It To You (Straight From The Left Side)" in the late 1980s. The same thing happened to Skyy as the rest of the R&B/funk bands, the dull 1990s came around. Lots of the other old groups tour but I haven't heard a peep out of Skyy. I did get a chance to see them live once in the mid to late 1980s though.
