Yes, I'd like to see a Marvin movie too, but only if they portray him correctly. He was no saint and he led a tragic like. I'd love to see the real story, not some sugar-coated movie.

There's probably a trashy "tv movie of the week" already in the works (if one hasn't already been done?). I'd heard a few years back that the movie rights to a Gram Parsons biography were being shopped around. That could be great in the right hands.

Miles Davis =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Sun Ra =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Fela Kuti With over fifty albums recorded, vocalist, horn player and political activist Fela Kuti is widely regarded as the Elvis of African music. Born in Abeokuta, Nigeria in 1938, Kuti travelled to London in 1958 and joined the Trinity College's school of music. Throughout the sixties, Kuti formed a number of bands, inventing and naming the genre known as "Afro Beat". During this time, he became interested in the writings and politics of Malcolm X, Eldridge Cleaver, The Black Panthers and other proponents of Black nationalism and Afrocentrism. At the close of the sixties, he formed the band Nigeria 70, whose sound was a combination of blaring horn sections, antiphonal vocals, Fela's quasi-rapping pidgin English, and clean-sounding Fender® guitars, all wrapped up in a smouldering groove that could last nearly an hour per song when played live. This was truly an intoxicating sound. In 1969, after a disagreement with a promoter who turned them in to the Immigration and Naturalization Services, Fela and the band were charged with working without work permits and sent back to Nigeria, where he won many fans from across the social spectrum. His biggest fan base, however, was Nigeria's poor who related to his songs about police/state brutality. From almost the moment he came back to Nigeria up until his death, Fela was hounded, jailed, harassed, and nearly killed by a government determined to silence him. After a particularly vicious attack on his compound in 1977 which led to the death of his mother and a fractured skull, Fela briefly lived in exile in Ghana, returning to Nigeria in 1978. In 1979 he formed his own political party, MOP (Movement of the People), and at the start of the new decade renamed his band Egypt 80. Military rule returned in 1983, and in 1984 Fela was sentenced to ten years in prison on charges of currency smuggling. With help from Amnesty International, he was freed in 1985. Fela carried on recording during the 80's and early 90's but gradually became ill, dying of an AIDS-related illness on August 3, 1997. http://www.fendereurope.c...dmusic.asp This would make a great movie if done properly. Actually, all of the above would. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Diana Ross---wouldn't this be a perfect role for Beyonce?
Rick James---whatever happened to the planned biopic starring David Chappelle? Has anyone heard any news? Earth Wind and Fire---they were the biggest funk/soul band of the 70s,and their story is compelling.Spike Lee could direct it. Donna Summer---she was the "Queen of Disco" and her story is very intriguing. They should use the excellent book "Donna Summer:Her Life And Music" by Josiah Howard as the basis for the script. Many people believe that Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child looks like Donna,so maybe she could play this role?

I'd like to see a Madonna one naturally..
There was one real shit one called "innocence lost" or something like that. I think up to now Madonna has lead a rather interesting life. But we need to get the facts straight. Too many silly madonna rumors in this world, and we have to filter those out and make a decent film. And no, Britney shall not play the leading role

RazzBeret said: No one will probably agree with this one, but I think making a movie about The Police would be quite interesting...I have their box set, Message In A Box, and there is a booklet that comes with it. This explains all of their humble beginnings, how they formed, etc. This would make a very good storyline for a movie.

I like the cat that played the main character/narrator in Lackawanna Blues. He'd be good for that role. Decent actor, not too young, not too old. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Jamie Foxx will spend 2006 pretending to be Marvin. [quote] I think Usher Is suppose to be playing Marvin in a Bio-pic...I pray it's not true. Diana Ross- Beyonce is supposedly in talks about playing her in a bio-pic. John Coltrane - The movie "Bird" by Clint Eastwood came out in 1988 Jimi Hendrix - Vh1 did a movie on him, which sucked. I'd like to see a Real movie about Jimi I'd personally like to see movies on, not in any particular order: Prince - He's so complex that would be hard The REAL Jackson Story - not like that dumb miniseries James Brown Boy George Sylvester Rick James Parliment Funkadelic George Clinton Elton John David Bowie Sly Stone/ the Family Stone Berry Gordy Gamble and Huff/ the Philly Sound Aerosmith Fleetwood mac Quincy Jones A good Documentary on the Funk and Disco Era that doesn't end with John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever or Studio 54....I want to know about Larry Levan and the Paradise Garage, Patrick Adams ect.

True. But "Bird" is Charlie Parker, often considered the seminal influence in bebop. John Coltrane rose to prominence after Bird's death. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
