Not to nitpick, but this lyric says everything about what's annoying about her these days. Don't watch TV? How's anyone gonna hear what she has to say. Not on the radio, that's for sure...

She's talking about herself.
She doesn't watch tv or read magazines to avoid lies (as stated in the lyrics above that) that people say about her.
She isn't talking about everybody rebelling against television.

Maybe if you actually listen to the song, you may get the message... just a thought

Um, yeah, I get that she's talking about herself. Try to follow me here: She built her career on television and as a pop-culture image (e.g., the Versace ads in this month's Rolling Stone.) Don't you think it's a bit "biting the hand that feeds you" to suddenly get all high and mighty about those avenues of exposure?

THe hand that feeds her is also the hand that slaps her
It's a love/hate relationship between Madonna and the media and with any pop star.
So she figures why watch tv if there may be something that will try to bring her down and discourage her... I see no crime there

Silvo Cicoone didn't let his children watch TV. Madonna has talked about sneaking over to friends houses to watch tv. Also before American Life before her children she stated that she doesn't have time to watch TV. It's not being hypocritcal its just the way she has lived her life, hince how it got into the album.
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

I don't mind contradictions. Lord know Prince would be dean at that school. But I'm much more interested when artists investigate the confusion in those conflicting feelings--which she's done in the past--rather than parrot their currently favored religous doctrines (be it kaballah, JW, or whatever)

She has spent the past three albums explaining how she is doing with her confusion. just sometimes it's hard to relate to because how many people can really relate to being stalked by the media for over 20 years?

Thank you (see, I knew we agreed on sumthin!) I'm sure it's rough out there for any hot celebrity, but if you start taking that shit seriously, like, as in, your life is really any worse than the fanbase you originally connected with (made your moulah off of)...then you're lost, truly. And I'll be the first to welcome a return to senses.
