For the people who questioned Madonna's influence on Gwen

"When her success started, in the 80's, I was only 15 years old and I was still attending the high school. At that time I didn't like pop music, but I liked ska. Only later I realized that her music would have stayed in my memory. I have to admit that in my own album I really wanted to follow that sound. But a new Madonna doesn't exist. She marked out a new road, not only for women but also for a lot of men."

i can't remember who argued purplegypsy and i. either janfriend or janfan4l, but whomever it was, they were convinced there was no madonna sound on the record. someone even told purplegypsy she was hearing things, lol.

There was a whole post about it a while back. People were claiming there was NO Madonna influence at all which I don't get. It's pretty obvious to me.

I think the only debate we had was if "Serious" was a "Physical Attraction" knock-off (which it isn't mad )

She's starting to look really rough, too. If she put some weight on it would help.

gwen looks fine...and i say this as someone who has stood face to face with her. you've always got something semi-insulting to say about someone. lol

You saw her, what, a year ago? Two? I remember that story, right - you yelled "Gwen" at her from across the street or something and she looked back at you?

actually, it was about a year ago when no doubt was last in chicago. no, it wasn't from across the street, lol, it was face to face outside of the whiskey in downtown chicago.

I think she's cool. I also think she's sickly thin (have you seen her lately?), and unhealthy looking recently. That is what I meant by "rough". She need a sandwich. sad

I remember in Rolling Stone i read an article of how Madonna was going to sue Gwen over the copying of her image.

Obviously untrue, but i guess the rolling stone magazine or whoever wrote the article could see the striking resemblence between Madonna and Gwen,

I think Madonna should be honored if someone goes around dressing like her...
