Okay, maybe I'm taking this too far but I HONESTLY think that anyone who can look @ what this man has done to himself & feel an attraction or admiration or find him sexy has some serious issues

I don't know if it's a race thing (an absolute & over the top love of European characterisitics), a longing to physically change ones self that they can identify w/ him, or just a blind fanatic love of him & acceptance of all his craziness. I don't know what it is but it's fucking frightening to me that people can embrace him as "normal" & applaud such an obvious sickness (and I'm just referring to his physical appearance here & what has manifested through his appearance).

Am I taking this too far? I mean, if MJ is nuts for doing this to himself, how nutty are the people who drool @ the result?

I'm being serious here folks. Not just trying to upset people or accuse y'all of being nuts. I'm really wondering if anyone who admires him so has ever looked at it that way. Is it even possible for some of you to look @ him just as a man, w/o all the music & admiration? I'd really like to know.

At one point MJ was all that. Now his fans look for other aspects of his body to fawn over. It's only natural this would happen, furthermore, Human beings can find attractiveness in non-human things. Scientist say that our attraction to people has very little to do with looks.

lilgish - you´re right. It´s not about looks. A lot of so-called "hot guys" keep me perfectly cold, while many other - normally looking or not as attractive turn me on.

Michael has never been someone I would date even when he was a black man. He just looked normal and actually happy. (and I know happy is relative so please don't kill me with all of the "how you know he was happy stuff).

what is hard to understand about the fact that you get influenced by other´s ppl comments on your looks? I for example have been all of my life skinny. Today my height is 1.73 m and I weigh 56 kg. No matter how much I eat I cannot put on any weight. My body is just that way. I am perfectly healthy and have never been on diets. My whole life I have been listening to ppl telling me instead of "hi" - "OMG, eat something!" And it DOES make you aware of your body. You are scared to refuse to eat something when you don´t like it, cause ppl are looking at you "oh, she must be anorectic" or she´s one of those "diet-crazy" chicks. I am also very shy about my appearance. I feel too skiny - yet there´s nothing I can do about it. Yet some ppl tell me I could be a model, but I am too shy to even get changed in other ppls presence. My mum for example told me today that my father suspects me that I do not have a lunch, cause I keep complaining about how badly they cook at our school, but I DO EAT THERE atually! I can´t imagine myself not eating anything. I can easily hungry.
Whenever I come to visit my grandparents, the first thing my granddad does is ask me what I ate and offers me something to eat.
But I am not trying to complain. I am not unhappy about my appearance. I just do catch myself sometimes being overly shy.
You know, listening to MJ, I think he had 1000 times harder times with his looks. When I hear him talking about it and working in showbusiness you can magnify this again 1000 times. And when he did something about it, he got even more negative attention. The more he´s trying to do something to "improve" his looks, he gets even more critisised and this criticism makes him again unhappy and makes him wanna do something and this way it goes full circle with no way out. And this thread is a proof of it. I post a cute picture of him and while some admit he looks cute in nit, they won´t forget to say, but LOOK AT WHAT HE´S DONE AND HOW HE LOOKS TODAY!!! Open the magazines. Imagine being his shoes. Whenever you open a magazine, all you´ll find out about yourself is how ugly you are.

I don´t know how to explain it better. I just understand him.
