It's a shame that Heatwave are only known for their first two albums. The jams continued well into the 80s.Remember early-80s songs like "Posin Til Closin" and "Big Guns"? They didn't become big hits, but those songs are fierce.

Yeah, I tried to pick one that would spark someone's memory. The only ones the radio plays nowadays is "Always And Forever" and "The Groove Line".

"Boogie Nights" gets alot of airplay on our classic R&B station.I am fed up with "Always and Forever".Great song, but it's played too much.Honestly,I don't wanna hear it again...EVER.

Oops, I forgot about "Boogie Nights". It gets a lot of airplay here too on a station that plays 60s and 70s pop/rock and crossover R&B. It's a damn Clear Channel station so you know they play the same songs every day. They play "Boogie Nights" to death on Saturday nights when they play nothing but disco from 7 p.m. till midnight.

I'm sure "Always and Forever" gets a lot of airplay on another station here but they only play slow stuff and a few current slow songs so I never listen to that station except on Saturday afternoons from noon till 5 p.m. when one particular DJ plays the old school funk. Their format is considered "soft soul". I guess they try to pep it up on Saturday afternoon after putting everyone to sleep all week. lol

I wish we had a station that plays nothing but old school funk and disco but these dead asses down here wouldn't listen to it. lol

Man,I would LOVE a radio station that plays nothing but old school funk and disco.Mostly 70s stuff and a little 80s would be fine, but nothing past 1984.How cool would that be?

In the early 90s here in the Bay Area,we had a cool radio station that played nothing but 70s music. They played mostly rock and pop,and a little R&B.On Saturday nights, they did a disco show from 7:00 to midnight. It was cool, but the station is long gone.

That's exactly where I would have the cut-off...1984. Things got kind of dead after that. biggrin
