Joss Stone....KA-CHING!!!! Just 17 and worth a fortune ... Joss Stone.
Teenage soul singer Joss Stone has made it into a rich list of Britain's young music millionaires. The 17-year-old from Devon has earned more than $12 million since bursting on to the music scene. She is one of the highest new entries in the rich list compiled by The Sunday Times. Charlotte Church, Coldplay, Daniel Bedingfield, Will Young and the Beckhams are also on the list. To qualify as young music millionaires, entrants have to be aged 30 or under. At number one is Dhani Harrison, son of the late Beatle George Harrison, who has inherited a $342 million fortune. Second are the Beckhams - who qualify thanks to Victoria's former singing career - with $183 million between them. John Lennon's son Sean is the highest new entry at number three with a personal wealth of $49 million. Coldplay's Chris Martin and fellow band members Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion share fourth place with Ronan Keating and former Spice Girl Emma Bunton - each have a $24 million fortune. Singers Craig David and Will Young follow with $22 million and $19 million respectively. Charlotte Church has $14 million, as does new entry Denise Van Outen, who has made her money through TV work, music and property investments. Joss Stone is one of the highest new entries, at number 14, but The Sunday Times predicted the figure could rise "spectacularly" in the next year thanks to booming record sales. She is also set to sign a lucrative deal to become the new face of Gap.

I love this review of her latest single, "Spoiled":
Unless you’re a fox, the term ‘urban’ is one most of us have difficulty defining. Does it mean black music, music of black origin, or just anything that Trevor Nelson likes? Whatever it means, according to the Brit Awards, Joss Stone is officially the best at it, so well done her. Taking “Spoiled” as our guide, urban would appear to be an innocuously pleasant mellow soul groove over which sings a young girl who sounds like she’s developing a cleft pallet. This tragic condition renders phrases like “better off by myself” as “bedder aw bamasell” and “just too hard to fight” is horribly mangled to become “jussoo hartafy”. Yet, bravely, this Devonshire sweetheart continues to accept awards and perform ropey duets whilst Robbie Williams rubs up against her. Please buy this single so that she may be able to afford the operation she so desperately needs. Without it, Joss Stone could develop full-blown Heather Small. None of us want that. 4/10
