I know he's trying to regain the fans he lost after Resurrection and One Day It'll All Make Sense. But I hope the he doesn't lose that musical magic he acquired on Like Water For Choclate and Electric Circus. I'll just hold my breath until the album drops... because I didn't particularly care for the first singles from the last two albums either.

I've always been a huge Common fan. I think this LP will be great just like LWFC was great. There really cant be another LP like Ressurection because well its not 94' and th egolden age is over. I didnt like Electric circus at first but it grew on me. I wish he made tht Geto Heaven video with the D'angelo version and not the Macy Gray version.

I know what you mean. I can appreciate the Macy Gray version for what it was. But the D'Angelo version was much better.

I think what makes it unique is the fact Common said "Im not putting ...Jay Z,Jadakiss, etc

Im putting Last Poets and I dont care if they are on Hot 97. Because they are legends" Cats need to check that. Cuz those are the godfathers.

GGIIII dis feeling" I love how dude says that.

How can cats hate Mr West? He is amplifying Common to where he needs to be. So he can go to album 7

This is the backpack album kids have been waiting since
Ressurection.

Cuz if you peep it the Common purists have been waiting for their moment with NO I.D. and I think they know that Kanye is best partner for Common.
The only thing is... he accelerated so much faster than NO I.D. and he isnt a obscure name like that for Kanye to do the whole project its putting himself out there like that like Dilla.

And Like Water For chocolate took a MIIIIINUTE for common fans to accept that. Still alot of them to this day want the Backpack Common back.
So maybe this is a peace offering to the streets.

You know whats interesting?
I think Common is the first rapper to get a letter from Prince.
I bet you someone played him "The Light"

Funny you say that. I always thought it was Resurrection that MADE Common a hip-hop legend. It is commonly referred to as one of the great albums in hip-hop history. It made me a fan. One Day was hit and miss, LWFC was good-but-not-great, and I was under the impression that it was Electric Circus, a noble experiment, that alienated his core base. He was on somewhat of a roll up until then, with "The Light" and "Ode To Hip-Hop" and all the coverage he got for his relationship with Badu.

Plus, he is the only MC to make the legendary Ice Cube back down after he pulled his card on "I Saw the B---- in You."
